Great podcast Dave. I’ve got a new respect for Ben. It’s not easy being a bit vulnerable in the public eye. I like his style. He’s real person and I take a lot of value in that. Best of luck to him this year in the Opens.
Super excited for Ben, I’ve been a fan of his for several years and I’m definitely rooting for him in the opens. I’m really hoping to see him on the big stage soon.
Ben is one of two RU-vidrs that seem to have mastered forward facing sonar. His time on the water seems to be outrageously high. He's confident but seems relatable. He seems really driven too. He's got a great story. I'm really pulling for him. P.S. when he makes it. The MFrs will descend upon the the Elites like nothing seen before. 😆 🤣 😂
@My Chaotic Fishing actually, once I got to thinking about it. There's 3. Ben Milliken, Johnny Schultz and John B. What they seem to be able to do is spot big fish that aren't obvious, even with forward facing sonar. Then, they seem to be able to identify, at least at times, which fish are catchable. No one on RU-vid, that I've seen, has demonstrated this more than Ben. I'm pretty sure pros have picked the brains of both Ben and John regarding targeting big fish with forward facing sonar. Johnny Schultz has been teaching electronics for quite a while. So I'm sure he's influenced a lot of anglers as well.
Ben Milliken will succeed in the Opens, I'm not saying he'll be in the Elites but he'll do good. The man has changed my life, well my fishing life. What he's doing on RU-vid in not being contested by anyone as far as huge bass go

🍺Ben is very competitive. He is in a good place with his family and finances. 🤔He is experienced and good with live scope. Most importantly he is chasing his dream and is not afraid to fail. These are all traits needed for success 🤑. He also will not fish scared. Most people would hide behind their U-Tube success. I have tremendous respect 🤛and appreciation for him going for it. He also has personality and is well spoken😎. 33 years old . If I was him I would look at it as he has 500K people supporting him 🤷♂️and he will definitely do well in my opinion.🤠
I think Ben is going to smash 'em! I think he'll catch more big fish than people think he will, and be in contention for big bass in multiple tournaments. I don't know if a lot of people realize what a well rounded angler he is from smashing Double Digit bass on 15" glide baits to 12lbers on a 2.7" swimbait on a spinning rod. Wishing him the best!
Wow!! Just finished listening!! I have been a fan of Ben's RU-vid channel for a couple years now and I used to say to myself, "why isn't he fishing in major events.” I think he has a shot. Thanks Dave for great content. I hate wishing my life away but since starting to use the podcast app on my phone while at work, I sooo look forward to hump day.

Ben is on point..in the topic of what to show..it's about the brotherhood on the road..the grind..the travel..not the catching fish as much as the tournament trail we can't experience. Always interesting to see a “RU-vidr” step into highly competitive tournaments on the heavily pressured lakes.. obviously a large difference in targeting fish for content compared to fishing tournaments. Excited to see how it shakes down for Ben.
I hope Ben succeeds. I watched his very first content he published. As I matured as a fishermen he evolved also and going through some of the same things and learning from him has helped me more than I can express. He’s a huge net positive for the industry and i will continue to support him wherever this part of the journey takes him.
Dude, you took the words right outta my mouth. Ben is the real deal and the fact that he actually teaches fishing without reserve is why I've watched every video he's posted. I've been fishing for years and there have been SO many little tricks that I've learned by watching his stuff.
Love it. Keep it coming. Your guests always have great insight and Ben is no exception. So nice to see regular dudes gettin it done. What I like most about Ben is the minimal filtering. You're getting to know him and see what he's doing without the polished fake image.
@@factsoffishing I think most of us know we aren't at that level and know we aren't willing to make the sacrifices they make, but we are also enamored not by the money but by the passion these guys share with us and how much we enjoy the fishing.

I know I'm 3 weeks late to the viewing party but I'm sure glad this showed up in my feed. I've been watching Bens vids for a few years now and along with the guys from TacticalBassin and Big John from CreekFishingAdventures he is hands down my favorite YT fishing channel. Much respect from the Buckeye State.
Im an old friend of Ben Millikens from Nebraska. Jeff Mumm. Dude is a legit fisherman. I offered him $5,000 to help promote my plumbing channel on You tube and he turned me down. After watching this video I know why. Its not for him. He dont want to just be a cheesy promoter. Much respect to him and I will be rooting for him in the opens!!
Now look at what he’s accomplished on Toledo Bend. He’s blowing the doors off the field after two days. Ben is truly the real deal and will be a handful on the Elite Series next year!👍🏻👏🙂

Not even half way through and very motivated by the talk of starting tourney fishing late. I'm a few yrs older than Ben and want to start when I retire from the military in a few yrs. Anything is possible and it's never too late!
He is one of the few BIG mainstream RU-vidrs that has actually given me great advice and pointers. No offense to any of the other big ones, he just shares more juice IMO. Great interview! Good luck on the tourney trail Ben!
I believe he may break down some walls this season. Bens personality and hilarious comments are the reason I follow him. All the fishing advice is just icing on the cake
I fished with Ben ~10 times back here in Nebraska. Hands down the best angler I’ve ever shared a boat with and an even better dude. Even went out of his way to give me some 6th sense baits at the NBAA national championship when I ran out of a certain color. Can’t wait to see him on the elites sooner than later

Knocked it outta the park this time Dave! Ben has been an insperation for me fore a few minutes now! While I may of stopped drinking going on 10 years in October I would absolutely love one of those "Special bottles" I guess I should clarify a little hahah I drink to enjoy now or to celebrate a special moment. Wellllllll I feel this is a special moment and what better way to celebrate but a spot to fish with the big dogs of this sport and an even better platform for anglers to learn and improve. None the less Keep bringing the excitement on the big stage and keep doing what you are doing!!
This was absolutely an awesome video and I just recently started watching Ben's channel. I am learning so much watching his videos. I hope that he is successful in his Freshman year as a tournament angler. Best to you Ben and I will continue to watch your channel and continue to learn from you.

Another good show as usual. Like Ben he is a great angler and has always been very forthcoming with info. Will be interesting to see how he does in opens.
Ben and his partner JoeMckay started doing the u-tube during tournaments here in Iowa and surrounding states. When the FFS showed up on the scene, he was teaching followers how he uses the electronics during practice days. And that's what started the channel. Ben and Joe and the camara guy Cole are as real as they get and are great guys.
I am not sure if I am more impressed with Ben's fishing abilities or his business savvy. But Dave, I really think you dropped the ball on this interview. You Never mentioned his "flow"? Geeez.
Been watching Ben since he started. Watched when he made his video when he made the decision to go full time on video. Have watched him being uptight, being a young asshole, to becoming the level headed rounded person he is today. He’s on a journey, making decisions, and is going to find the greatest gift in the end. And I hope he finds it before the end. He’s from good people, and a great guy. I hope he finds his dreams. You go Ben!!!! 😁😁
Great podcast! It’ll be fun to watch Ben out there. If I had to bet he will do real well in the opens eventually. Wouldn’t surprise me if his first year on the opens is rougher than he wants, but once he gets used to it I think he will excel out there. He seems to have a lot of versatility and time on the water and isn’t afraid to try new things with confidence. And he set him self up financially and schedule wise through fishing so he won’t have as much of those worries weighing him down.
Ben's an awsome bass fisherman. Love watching his RU-vid Vid's and positive he's going to do well . I'm based in South Africa and have a couple buddies who check out his RU-vid Vid's religiously. Keep em coming buddy 😁
Expect big things from Ben because he knows he's good enough, he believes it, and he will make it happen, it's fitting that this is the GOAT'S last year and Ben's first it's my belief and this is a big statement he will be the rookie of the year! Mark it, dude!

Hes about to enter the Thunder Dome. It takes a special person to handle this level of competition. Big Water you barely know, long weeks, weather normal ppl won’t fish in, fishing water that 200+ anglers have been fishing daily, ppl fishing in every spot you found in practice. Hope he does well.
Good points. I think he is in for a rude awakening. With all of the hype surrounding him, he will either dive or thrive. Will be interesting to see either way.

Well thanks ya very much, it is a very comfortable shirt. It actually is the shirt I plan on wearing at the classic but it was a long road trip and I had not done laundry yet 😂
