Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Scotland and the United Kingdom. The summit is 1,345 meters above sea level and is the highest land in any direction for 459 miles. Ben Nevis stands at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Highland region of Lochaber, close to the town of Fort William.
The pony track is called the tourist track because it is the simplest of the trails, and most beginners find it perfect for them. The main path runs up Ben Nevis and originates from Glen Nevis. You can find the beginning at the Glen Nevis Visitors Centre. The path continues to Lochan Meall an t-Siudhe.
