Love how Juan Soto stepped out of the box to make sure rice got out of the dugout for the curtain call. That's wouldn't be that big a thing, but in today's game you're limited with how many times you can step out of the box once you've entered it. Great teammate move there.
THIS BOY LOVES TO HIT: This is the day Ben Rice made his uniform number, #93, a famous number in Yankee history. I'm 65 and I have never seen a Yankee rookie do what this kid did in one day. I think he has the Babe and Lou Gehrig smiling over his shoulder. And Mickey and Roger and maybe Thurman too.
If he never gets another hit in the major leagues, Ben Rice can tell his grandchildren that he had a curtain call at Yankee Stadium, and that’s pretty damn awesome.
That got the attention of all MLB pitchers, who will now go to the films to find the weaknesses in Young Rices approach and swing. They will make the necessary adjustments, and Ben must then counter their actions and make adjustments himself.
@@aa697 Let us hope so. Gary Sanchez never did. Judge still hasn't made the necessary adjustment to hit anything below his waist. I am encouraged that Ben, at his young age, makes contact and puts bat on ball, but he does have a weak spot down and in.
I totally agree with you. Big Yankee fan living in Miami. The Marlins called up Dontral Willis in 2003. The rest is history. Dontral pitching style and his energy were what they needed.
A sarcastic remark but if he can be Shane Spencer for this year all the way through the playoffs than I’ll take it. Cause that’s what he did and helped the Yankees big time. Nice try. Lol
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 atta boy Ricey (3) only 2 other rookies have ever done this in ALL the mlb 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 Amazing 👏 👏 👏 👏 😮😮😮😮😮😮and howse bout Ben Rice today...... thanks for stepping up
Thank so much Mr. Rookie Rice, the Yanks need a productive guy to back up Mr. Judge, Mr Soto and the others on the team who are struggling, we thought the Yanks were doing the same old shit again, lagging in the standings.
been saying it for 3 years - bring up the farm system. Not surprised of this kid - athletic, great swing, great mind set - someone to build a team around. Dump the dead wood ruining this team. We know who they are.
So.... do we have our First Baseman now? Or .... is it still a little too early to tell yet? I understand the Kid is a Catcher by trade, and that 1B is a "project" for him, and the Organization. But wow! What a start to his rookie season. I love Rizz... but we need to face facts. it's over now for him. Most of us know that. No disrespect. A great player. Great career. But age and injury have got him now. He's a below average player at this point. We have needed a 1B and 3B. Do we have out 1B now? Or too early to tell ?
