If you spend enough time in there, you'll find them. But most are movies that most people have never seen or heard of unless they went to film school or know people who are into obscure movies.
I love that he talks about and respects the packaging design. As a graphic/product designer, I really love collecting physical media for a lot of that reason!
I could've watched this man in this closet for an hour. I've never heard of the guy and have never watched his show....but he's very funny and entertaining.
This was a good one. Great picks all round. Loved the story behind Bad Timing and getting coerced to move out of the house lol. That's the best thing about these videos, hearing the stories people have about watching the films.
The enthusiasm present in this, while not as manic as Safdie Brothers closet raid, is just as potent as any of the best closet vids. I really really love this.
my favourite horror-movie. heartbreaking, but I'm so happy when somebody talk about that story, it's really masterpiece, it's like overtrauma. Theresa Russell said people still come up to her and thank for «Bad Timing». I love «Track 29» and «Insignificance» too
Uuh... holy shit. This guy made me laugh out loud alone after a bad day. Not knowing who he is at all. Excuse me while I go check out his acclaimed series right quick.. like immediately. Fuck me his energy is so my speed. I wish there was a word for his snark. It's straight fire.
«Bad Timing» is a good, good choice. I think, I clicked it because that boy looked like John M., and a minute later I heard the name of my favorite (horror) movie. I remember Robert Smith from «The Cure» saying (and singing) that he felt like a pig after this movie. and how much I love it when people can love films like «Bad Timing» and «the Princess-Bride» at the same time
The Criterion Closet, with all those dvd's, looks like a typical tiny apartment of a film fanatic living in New York city with the rent only $3,000 a month !
One of the few people who comments on Criterions beautiful dvd covers. I hate that as digital became more prevalent DVD/BluRays started getting cheaper and cheaper with their cases :( Also funny Midnight Cowboy story. Went to a western themed bar with some coworkers and they had a bunch of western movie posters on the walls but they also had a Midnight Cowboy poster that they hung right outside the bathrooms. I was the only person who had seen that movie so I was the only one that thought that placement was hilarious :P
I was watching random TV in the late 90s, and this German movie came on... Then all this stuff stared happening. I'm not sure why I didn't switch it off, I just kept watching and watching, and it got worse and worse. So that was my first Haneke film, and it was Funny Games! Brutal but strangely brilliant.
but you've seen all the others, it's wow, it means so much. «Bad Timing» is heartbreaking, my favourite horror movie, but everything needs it's own time
Should I watch high maintainer? I don’t watch many shows just because it feels like the market for them is becoming over saturated with a bunch of low quality shit.
