What I love most about the anthem is it gives the left handed user a chance to own a completely ambidextrous Integral pocket knife. I was looking for a left hand bias integral knife and this is the only one you can buy without actually going full custom. Love Benchmade for that
Nice review E.S.B.! I was pretty impressed with this when it came through. I would still love to see an non-integral version at a lower price point but in terms of the design it's great. I would agree that the spring utilized on the Anthem gives the AXIS lock a better feel. Maybe we'll see a G10 non-integral in the future.
Definitely, considering this one. I'll have to wait until the first run is over, since it comes with the worthless first run etching on the blade. Pocket clip will have to go also.
ESB- I would call this a double, not a home run. I like the Chevron design. The clip looks like a wrinkly version of the dick clip. The chevrons on the clip should be the same size as those on the scales. A knife at this price should have left and right versions to get rid of the holes on the scales (cheap looking). At this price point, you should have no issues out of the box. The hardware should be anodized to match the scales. I'd buy other integrals over this. C'mon Benchmade, the Chinese are eating you for lunch.
For realz. But if I put on lotion before doing the video, the knives will get all greasy as I handle them. So much lose-lose when you're a underfunded RU-vidr :-P
Are you sure you want the clip to be flush? Wont it be difficult to insert the clip into the pant pocket or to withdraw the knife from the pant pocket? How about the wear and tear of the pocket? It would seem that the inside of the clip needs to be honed slightly to facilitate entry and exit. Just an observation.

Bought this as soon as they came out and returned it the day after it arrived. Lock up and action were good but the centering was horrible and with an integral there's no way to fix it. I also had the clip issue so they must think that's the correct way to do it. It isn't but like you said it's easy to fix. Maybe mine was a lemon but I'll wait and see before buying again.
Wait did they seriously put a website on the side of their blade? I'm also not sure how i feel about a 20CV blade pounding the titanium frame so it can stop when flicked open. I realize some other production companies have done this but it seems a little lazy to me when the could have put in a stop pin with a little extra work. Otherwise bravo to benchmade for giving the integral thing a shot
your lucky there first production run text is worse on there older knives thats half acceptable :) but they should just serialize all there knives that cost above 300 anyway

It's really too bad that their top of the line knife can have issues like that clip. I know it's an easy fix , but I'd still be pissed after spending that money...
i have bought almost 450 folders in the last 10 years and molested 4 times that and i even manage to disgust my self,,, remember all production knives are garbage its just a matter of how much :)
I love your vids, but as a lefty I feel like complaining that companies are making it to where we can carry their knives properly is unnecessarily rude. Why should we not be able to carry it in the proper manner as any right handed person?
