I figured you'd end up at their booth. Lol. Tell them to do two things: 1. Bring back the 943 2. Bring their prices back down where they belong. Benchmades are really good but not $180 for a Bugout good
Yes it called out to me! I would love to see the 943 part of the Heritage Line! Pricing seems to be up all across the board when checking knife booths this week.
@@zachstuff yeah I just heard Spyderco is going way up in february. A 943 with a blacked handle with the blue accent at the back and a black Magnacut blade would be AMAZING
Benchmade is expensive but I can say as a maker steel prices have SKYROCKETED since 2020. Steel is up 4-5x in 4 years for me. G10 and Carbon fiber has gone up double or more. Abrasives are up probably 20% not to mention staffing costs. I'm a solo operation and all US made but it's hard to expand with prices on raw materials being obscenely expensive compared to a few years back. Even just drill bits and chamfer bits are up 40% in a year or so. Cerakote is expensive as well. I had a backpacking company order 100 pieces and asked me how I got my retail and wholesale prices. We do a lot of business together so we discussed pricing for him and he was shocked looking at prices from 2019 to today. Even buying 1000s of pieces of steel and G10 price only can come down so much in cost. Get MagnaCut or CPM154 type steel that's 7-10x in price in my pricing. Only thing not wildly overpriced from 2020 is Kydex. It's up maybe .70/ft for .080 black, 1.00/plain colors. Nothing like steel
The 710 is really nice! I liked the little Intersect but a water colored knives for use on the water? 🧐🙄 Does it float? Black anodizing? 🧐🙄 Thanks, Zach!
The new water line is awesome!!!! Really cool to see them do something specific to water environments....while I do like the blue I think if I could choose the scale color I'd probably do something like neon yellow or orange just so it stands out if you ever drop it in or near water.... blue seems like it would blend in to well with water lol.. but great stuff coming!!!! #DSKFS #BEUP
Zach I appreciate the behind the scene, i really like the silver 710, the water line is cool to as i live on the coast in Coos Bay/North Bend i fish from time to time and its always wet here so it would be very useful to me with great grip and non corrosion Magnacut, Thanks
Thanks for checking the line up out Budzs!! I like the raw aluminum is pretty nice compared to the coated version. Don’t look at the upcoming titanium gold class 710….titanium scales and Damasteel!
The problem with the water line for me is that they catered all these knives to just fishermen which is fine but why not a line like this for coast guard and navy members?
No way. Overpriced. I wouldn’t of said that 5 years. Benchmade makes a great knife. I have a few but now they are asking 20% more on an already $170 940. No Thanks. Makes no sense!
Wait 70% of hunters fish. Weird statement, its like they are so tone deaf and had to research that to understand their customer.... Then they release with powder blue sheath, must have had an interesting focus group on that one. Hard pass!
