Wowwww I can’t believe there’s a whole community of this. I have the same thing, this is so touching to find other ppl like me. Very similar story... couldn’t feel for majority of life, burned my hand a few times without knowing, and also didn’t cry when being born
I have got the erb’s palsy condition as well and it’s being really tough but I’m getting by. I do everything from playing soccer in my university days to doing all kinds of no equipment exercises up to this very point. With your story, I’m going to add some weight lifting to see if it improves my range of motion. Gee yours looks really good. You do everything even the waiters tip . I will give everything just to get that range with the affected shoulder. I’m now 44years
I’m 25 and I was also born with Erb’s palsy in my left shoulder. I got tugged out as my collar bone got stuck on the way out. I have weakness and limited movement but it if wasn’t for my mother being so consistent with physical therapy from birth I probably wouldn’t have much movement at all. She wasn’t keen on surgery and I’m thankful for that. However in school certain activities was hard and also very humiliating for me as it was obvious that I would use my arm differently and that’s just one of my many issues. Being older now it a little frustrating as I rely mostly on my right arm and god help me if I ever injure it but I know I’m very lucky and very thankful!!
Man your story is the same as mine. I got the same story when i was born i was too heavy and my mom had problems giving birth. Like i would hear myself. Thanks for this
Damn this hurt my soul. My 8month old has this condition. She’s now in a spiked cast and we are trying to maintain. I definitely feel some relief. He’s definitely encouraging me to keep my daughter active and confident.
I’m 14 and unfortunately I ended up suffering with erbs palsy on my left arm from birth. It’s nice to know there’s a community of people who also have the same condition as me, and that I’m not the only one. Not being able to lift arm more than barely above my shoulder is a huge insecurity for me. Because I was in a cast for the first few months of my life, my tricep muscle didn’t develop as much. The tricep is one of the main muscles that is used when lifting the arm. If i can develop my tricep muscle through working out, I’m hoping that will help me with being able to have better function with my arm. I just need to stay motivated and not give up. It’s a process that I’m willing to go through and since I’m young this puts me in an advantage, I don’t want to put that advantage to waste. If anyone has any advice that would be greatly appreciated :)👍🏾
OMG this is me I’m a power lifter with this condition (I’m 37) and it’s in my right shoulder. My right arm is an inch and a half shorter than my left and my muscles is smaller. This is a great inspiration. Mine is because my mother tried to commit suicide when she was pregnant with me and went into premature labor so they had to get me out.
I’m 24 N I Have Erb Palsy In My Left Arm As Well I Went Thru All Types Of Shock Therapy to have some movements I never really used my other arm when I was younger untill I start getting older I started to get tattoos on my arm as well it was sooooo painful but it makes me feel better
I have erbspalsey in my right arm I’m also right handed but only throw, ,wipe myself etc with my left I guess have a little more strength in the left arm .. if I hit my right elbow on something my whole arm stiffens the pain is crazy ..my arm is also in the right position it just does not extend fully
I'm 36 years old and I was born with a palsy when the doctor had pulled me up on my left arm I was 11 and a half pounds and the doctor had a hard time gripping on to me so he gripped on to my left arm and permanently damaged some of the nerves in my arm where I can't lift my left arm fully above my head and it's a few inches shorter than my right arm and a tad bent and I've had it my whole life and it's incredibly difficult for me to live with for all these years but I really don't have a choice I wish I didn't have erbs palsy but oh well
I think have the same disability as well on my right arm.which my mom told me about it was from my birth and doctors couldnt do anything about it. But my arms seems to be much smaller that my left one and i cant use my thumb and my big finger so im a lil bit confused whether its same or not cause ur arm seems to be diff from mine
Looks can be deceiving! My shoulder disparity is a lot more clear when I’m shirtless to be fair but I’ve been training for around 10 years in some capacity
