I see some you tubes with big ones but it was by a marine bioligist, also I think I saw a big one crawl under my rock, I never added them! I have pineapple sponges as well. All of a sudden after 4 months all this life. I have been reserching all week trying to figure out. Kids back to school and living here in New England. Getting sick is inevitable :( . Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for the video. Couldn't come at a better time for me. This is a subject that is becoming important to me. I have recently ordered 80lbs of BRS Reef Saver Rock that is going to be going into a 90 gal tank I'm getting from Pete from "Reef News Network". Currently "four days now" have it in a 20gal tank curing and cycling. During this time I've been ghost feeding mysis shrimp and Ammonia has rissen to .02 ppm. I'll give it a few more days and then I'm planning on seeding the Nitrifying backeria by using some sand from my current tank and some rubble rock from my sump. So, I've been contemplating on adding Copepods to the tank with the dead rock. To give them some time to multiply. When would it be a good time? Can they withstand a cycle?
@MadHattersReef
@MadHattersReef 5 лет назад
As soon as the tank is cycled I would add them. What was the thought behind adding the nitrifying bacteria after you crept up to .02 ppm ammonia?
@ProppedNutFPV
@ProppedNutFPV 5 лет назад
I was saying at the time I wrote my post I was up to .02 ppm Ammonia. I was going to let it get a bit higher. As of today I'm at .08. My thought process was to make sure there was a good amount of Ammonia for the bacteria to feed off of. I won't be getting my new tank setup for a week or three.

I had some appear naturally in my tank! Can that happen or did they somehow survive coral dip and make it in their that way? I also bought some live rock but had it soaking in fresh mixed saltwater, so maybe they survived if on her rock. Do you know if they happen on their own?
@Brandon-og4nc
@Brandon-og4nc 2 года назад
They more than likely survived on your live rock. They would not of survived a dip as dip is meant to kill invertebrates (copepods are shrimp like animals) and fresh saltwater would not kill them. It only takes a few to make a huge population in a short time
