I'm not picking sides, I'm simply saying anyone at this level can win or lose to anyone else. People thinking Makachev can do whatever he wants are basing it off of wins against much lower level opponents than guys Olives have faced, and much lower than Olives himself. You'd have to agree to that

To the contrary, it wouldn't be a "huge upset"... I'd be more of a "Oh, well..." but a huge upset, it won't be. This guy is only about 80% as good as Islam in only one thing: pure wrestling. In BJJ, in striking power (although in absolute strength, I think Islam has the edge), in stand-up (striking, boxing, Muay Thai)... they are very well matched up. If there's anyone to beat Islam that is not a "huge upset," it'd be this guy. Beneil and Islam's BJJ are the only two close enough to Charle's in quality that he won't take it for granted. All the others --- including black belts like Chandler, Dustin et al --- they're just not anywhere within sight of Charles, so while he struggles a bit with pure strikers, on the ground (or in a clinch while standing), he's supremely comfortable, even if they (being superior wrestler like Chandler or Gaethje) should take Charles there. Again, Islam and Beneil, very different: either man can just as easily sub Charles, if he makes a wrong move.

Crazy exciting fight, can't wait. I will pay for this fight but not welterweight or Middle weight title match reruns.
