Agree. I almost fell off once sailing alone! I now never leave the cockpit without a vest on. It would have ruined such a nice day! Looks like an awesome sail.
Hi James...have you noticed that the oceanis 37 chainplates for sideshrouds are simply u bolts with very small base and backing plates thru the deck...don’t these seem inadequate? My sideshroud plates are leaking and it scares me how lightweight this chain plate system looks. Do u know if balsacore in under the chainplates? With water intrusion, and such a small chainplate footprint with no rod etc to hull, it looks very flimsy, am I missing something....?
Yes you are right of course .....my sailing is really all coastal cruising and in any rough conditions will always keep my body mass down low when going up forward.....Cheers
this is also a 2012 model........I either have 2.3m Zodiac zoom inflatable tied on the transom or on deck above the hatches ....although when its on deck extra care is needed to tie preventer lines stopping the jib sheets getting caught.......I much prefer it on deck as its visually too restrictive on the transom....youll be happy with your new boat Im sure....super easy to sail....I solo mine regularly with ease
