A got caught out with that pea scam in Tenerife around 25 years ago I was on my last day with my girlfriend and we didn't have much money left and I blew my last £50 on it! It looked that way easy at the time but I didn't know the ones who were winning playing it were part of the team! My girlfriend wasnt at all happy with me when I started playing it! 🙄
I think a lot if people get a wrong impression of Benidorm of being rough and rowdy. My husband and I went a few years ago to see what it was all about, it was fabulous. We walked miles and loved every minute . The following year 2018 we went back with my brother and sister in law. They to got a surprise how nice it was. Hopefully going back later this year. X

100% absolutely no Spanish culture. The show is an exact representation. Went there a few times because I lived a few hours away (only when absolutely necessary). Locals avoid it like the plague. However, the beach itself and the mountains are beautiful. That’s pretty much it
With an attitude like that then enjoy Blackpool! We are just bk from benidorm and we loved it...I used to think it looked tacky but I was soo wrong...the old town is stunning x
Loved Daytona beach bar when we where in Benidorm. Great rock bands. Like you said Kevin, there is something for everyone in Benidorm. The beaches are fabulous and it's a great walk along the promenade.

We are back to Benidorm this weekend, really looking forward to this. We go twice every year but the last 2 years we only managed once each because of the virus. It was busy but not as busy as usual so was a different experience to normal. Anyone who has never been to Benidorm is really missing out. It has something for everyone

Last in Benidorm in early January, still warm enough for T-shirts and shorts. We stay in Alfaz del Pye about 4km outside the town but only 1e and 15 mins on the bus to the centre.
Great blog, Kevin. Me and hubby went to Beni in 2019 to see what it was like after being a fan of the TV series. Hubby was surprised when we got there how great it was! We had a fantastic time. Have been trying to get back ever since! Have had to rebook due to Covid 3 times! Finally going 19/5/22! Can't wait! Thanks for all the info. I’m with you Kevin, Benidorm is brilliant and it’s one of my favourite destinations ( along with Majorca). I love to walk along Levante in the afternoon, stop for a few drinks and watch the youngsters outside Tikki Beach… it brings back fun memories of being a 20 year old there😁
This is a Blackpool in the sun . Everyone to their own but I personally don't understand older people 50s and upwards still enjoying this type of holiday.Ive been and done it now I like relaxing in Malta.And further away going Canada and the states .To me just doing these holidays is boring bar to bar club to club very interesting Not
@@kevinstones9326 Not everyone can afford to travel further afield to places like the USA, also who says everyone holidaying in Benidorm spends all their time in bars and clubs? I for one don’t and I never venture down the new part in the nightime, but I’m not knocking it as there are plenty who enjoy it. I get out and about to places like Altea ( beautiful) and small coastal areas further south of Benidorm and even hop on a train to Madrid. Benidorm is a convenient and affordable base from which to explore several lovely areas so please don’t assume we all go and sit in a British bar all day every day.
@@kevinstones9326 I ran the marathon in 2018 at the age of 57. Have travelled the world. The fab people, beautiful hotels and brilliant tribute bands are the reason I will keep enjoying Benidorm 💃🕺😎
Not been to Benidorm in ages, I was pleasantly surprised with it, good restaurants and clean streets. Used to stay with a pal in La Marina. Great beach there too!
Went there when I was 15 stayed in a hotel called Tropicana gardens down at bottom where you was walking not sure if it's still there walked up a steep hill to get to hotel
We always go after the fiesta in November & it’s always busy then, some great bars along the beach, as you say a short flight compared to Tenerife, thanks Kevin xxx

Just behind the first pea men, go up the side street where aromas is on and you'll come to Hilton sports bar. Paul and Diane run it and you'll love it mate.
Back in 1990, my first time in tenerife, these scammers were called Lucky Lucky men. they took 1 mug for 140 Pesatas in about 10 minutes. they were always looking out for the police, If they got caught,the police would take all their money and share the money amongst themselves and let them go. It was mainly the Eastern Blockers that did the scamming.
Heyas Kev.I.N 👍 great walk there along the prom. I stayed in the Rincon area some 40+ years back at a hotel just at the bottom of the hill it used to be called the Tropicana? Now the hotel Benikaktus? Great walking to the old town at that age!!! I would need a mobility scooter 🙄 now. I enjoyed watching this. I was there with a friend in August/September 1974 and August 1975. We went to the Holiday Discotheque and the Pisces Bar a lot. Was anyone else there at that time in those venues?

I stopped a couple that was about to be scammed with the pea men when we was there, and the pea men got so aggressive with me for stopping it they even had a woman in on it that was shouting and annoyed at me 👍🏻 the couple looked a bit alarmed but at least they didn’t lose their money they thanked me and walked off 👍🏻 i pointed out to them that the look outs for them was on both sides of the prom and on the street corners too 🙄 I’m surprised some people don’t know about these scammers it’s a well known thing in Benidorm ☹️ glad you pointed this out Kevin 👍🏻👏🏻 it was really busy in the first week of April too like it is there now, great video once again 👏🏻🥰 just be careful with your foot 😖 you can do an awful lot of walking in Benidorm we did over 20,000 steps a day when we was there 🥵
We know now why Benidorm ,the series , starring most of British actors , they never carry cash on them . Everything inclusive .although there was one when they got all scammed .haha .

My bum bag was stolen first time in Los Cristianos early one sunday morning August 2000 walking along the motorway up the hill for the cactus apts with my elderly aunt, Guy jumped out of car, luckily I had just gotten my safe organised after delay night before.. Lots of pals there now we all watch out for each other, Favourite spot, along with Cannes and the beautiful Kinsale Ireland, Stay safe, eye on the ball everyone.
Used to go outside BENIDORM as we thought that we were above that , to papillon night club, have u heard of it. We where young and trendy then in th1990 long before ur time sweetheart.

Had a great off season time here. Lovely hotel and utterly surreal street life in places. Our Spanish hosts were beyond reproach, particularly when dealing with the myriad of Brits in an advanced state of refreshment.

Tiki Beach was closed down by the council because of the crowds taking over the public footpaths and getting in everyone's way. I hope they do not spoil it again.
The pea men take money out of wallets of old slower people , I saw this myself , the stooges hyped the crowd up and when this man got his wallet out they pushed his arms upwards and the tallest man lifted his notes out , when the man brought his arms down his wife saw the money gone , but couldn’t prove anything , pickpockets also are rife about the audience
