This is the air pistol that started my air gun journey back in 1974 - I may have had a Sheridan version

That's a nice pistol! I have an old '87 model Benjamin/Sheridan HB17, which is the .177 cal Pump pistol. Looks similar to yours but not CO2 of course. It is very accurate, as in 1/2" groups or better at 25 ft., with 4 pumps, from a rested position (on the knee). And for some reason it shoots best with the cheap Daisy wadcutters. It also does really well with the RWS R10 wadcutters.

I had an uncle that had a Benjamin like yours. We loved shooting it. Crazy accurate and very compact.

Your lucky for it's ammo preference. Mine's a .20 (Sheridan) and it's hard to find that caliber locally.

Yeah, I had a beautiful .20 Sheridan Blue Streak when I was young. I lived in rural Illinois then. You were luck if the shop had heard of them much less carry them. They were really good performers though.

The prohunter is a very accurate gun once you master the open sights, this pistol loves a heavy pellet, even cheap heavy pellets can be very accurate

How much could you sell one of these for now
@IdentityCrisis1581

Mine was accurate enough. But it was severely underpowered. I dont know if it was defective or what. But it wouldnt break thin glass bottles from just a few feet. It barely put holes in soda cans. But i could hit what i aimed it at. But i have always had that problem with co2 pistols. The first few shots are fine then the drop off in power is horrible.

By the way- CO2 guns can be problematic. Had many and seals do let go. Only option is rebuilding it. Have 2 Crosman nightstalkers and now both will not hold. Seems they dropped it from the lineup. This is probably why.
@IdentityCrisis1581

@@erniestoner8266 yeah i was about 16. My grandad was with me when i bought it. But he knew real guns not air guns. So i didnt know how to rebuild them at the time and neither did he. I dont think its a bad gun. I think i just bought a lemon someone returned. And the store was using it as a display model. Usually they arent supposed to sell the display model. But it was the last one they had. And the salesman knew they were not going to be stocking them to sell anymore. So he went ahead and sold it to me as is. I liked the design. How it looked and felt. It was accurate. Just under powered. I would love to have one that works good.

@@IdentityCrisis1581 sounds like you had a cool grandpa. A Lot of people aren't going to like this but I will say it anyways. It sounds like a seal isn't sealing. ( Hear it comes ) outdoors spay WD-40 into it and then fire it a few times. It softens seals- can't fix broken ones. If it starts holding - good. If not after a few tries or overnight do an alcohol flush on it. Either alcohol or Wd40 first. After the Wd40 flush with alcohol to get it out and then put 2 or 3 drops of pellgunoil in the CO2 chamber on the piercing valve and then wet the oring sealing the cap. If this doesn't work it's reseal time . I did this on a first gen Crosman 600 and it still works till this day- 10 years. Dirt is a co2's enemy. There are a lot of people mocking this but it has worked and what's it going to hurt if it doesn't work now- you are going to have to reseal anyway. Just keep things as clean as possible.It MIGHT save you a reseal charge. Good luck 🤞

@@erniestoner8266 thanks. I wish i knew that back then as i am 40 now and i dont have the airgun anymore. But if i ever come across one again and buy it. I am sure your advice will be helpful. Thank you.

I have one we used to have problems with rats . Has any one had the bolt pop back when you fire this gun it seems very loose
@erniestoner8266
@erniestoner8266 2 года назад
The metal plate on the side of the breech has 2 screws in it that let you have access to the adjustment for the loose bolt. After pushing in the bolt did you remember to turn it? That locks it in. There is a pin sticking out the side of the bolt that might be missing.

@@erniestoner8266 yes ive turned it to lock it but the bolt is that lose the pressure has a tendency to push the bolt back open I'll have a look under the panel thanks

Where can I buy parts ?
@AlsAirguns

I'm not sure if Crosman Service Department has replacement parts for the EB22 anymore or not. Perhaps Baker Airguns, MAC1 or Mountain Airguns. What parts are you after?

For shooting cans I'm disappointed with this pistol. It only was able to put a dent in a softdrink can(a red can from.a famous softdrink manufacturer) from less than 4mtr distance.

There's something wrong with your pistol. It should be way more powerful. What pellets are you shooting?
