I use Diablo Exact Kings 25.39 they punch holes in raccoon skulls at 50 yards no problem. I use it for most of my small game hunting over the .22lR. shoot a few hundred rounds and it will get better as well.
Jsb king heavy shoot great too. Plus if you're shooting that out of the box without any tuning adjustments only use the first magazine for hunting after that your shot start to drop slightly but more towards the end of the 2nd magazine. You'll notice those drops at 40 to 50 60 yards. Centerpoints are cool but grab yourself a hawk 6 to 24 with half Mills
I just got my Marauder as well in .25 caliber, I highly recommend the H&N Barracuda. The Marauder literally stacks them in one hole at 25 yards. I've also tried the Benjamin pellets but they tend to be inconsistent in my gun.
+Felix Rodriguez i finally got the JSB exact kings the other day. I hope to be able to try them this weekend. I will get some barracuda's next time i order. Thanks for the input. Hope you enjoy your Marauder as much as i do mine.
My marauder, as well as most .25 marauders, likes the JSB Match Diablo Exact Kings 25.39 gr. I also hear that many people have great results with the predators, too.
I second this, I have a 40yd range and it's not uncommon to shoot a 1-inch ragged hole with the JSB exacts. That's with the stable table and lead sled rest though...takes me out of the equation. Odd that the Benjamin pellets aren't great out of the Marauder, but same for me. Once I found the JSBs I was happy though.
This is awesome info... I am looking forward to a follow up video ... After you get more shots down range and you try some different pellets!! Keep up the great work!! ;-)
+BillGoudy Thanks for checkin in BG. Always nice to hear from you. I was hoping to shoot more this past weekend buy we got hammered with snow. Maybe this weekend.
The barrel is floating, it's not a problem. All comes from factory with the "8" suporte twisted . With more practice, you will be able to do a better group Great video, thks
From a fellow Mrod25 owner to another, congratulations! My Marauder goes out with me every time even if it isn't in my hand to shoot. Stretching it's limits may surprise you, but most importantly, have fun! BTW: Love your video. Are you using a DSLR?
+D'artagnan V8der We used Cannon T2i with a 50mm cannon lens for the close up shots. This lens is cheap (as for as lens go) and gives pretty good depth of field. Worth the money if you are interested! I will link it below. Edited the footage with Final Cut Pro and After Effects. Glad to see you're having fun! Two things. First, try the JSB King 25.39 gr pellets. Should be more accurate than the Polymags. Also, if you do clean your rifle barrel, be very careful. Best to research how to do in on the MarauderAirRifle and GTA forums. You cannot clean them like you would a power burner. You probably already knew that, but better safe than sorry, right?
Felix Rodriguez You can if you take the barrel completely off. Otherwise the solvents will destroy the transfer port gaskets. Cleaning it honestly isn't worth it for a PCP gun, unless the bore is cake in grime, or is rusty I would just leave it alone. I come from the world of powder burning firearms and you have to clean those periodically, but it just isn't the same with air rifles.
Thank you, I probably won't clean it unless it really needs it, but I just wanted to make sure I didn't use the wrong stuff that could damage the o rings.
Felix Rodriguez Right, as long as the barrel is removed from the breech it will be fine. Also make sure when you remove the barrel you remove the breech as well, if you just try and pull the barrel out you will destroy the transfer port seal. You will also have to re zero your scope after cleaning your barrel, and will have to season the barrel with 50 or so shots before your accuracy restores.
I've been researching a few models on RU-vid and I'm not understanding the 5 shot grouping thing. I'm feeling a little dumb about asking what that means to shoot groups of five for accuracy but I've decided to ask you. I've always shot for bullseyes when practice shooting and I've never used a scope but I'm now looking to buy another gun and will be looking at scopes. I have a Gamo Silent Cat that I tried the scope on and took it off because I didnt like using one. Am I aiming at the same area of the target after my first shot? And why isnt anyone ever shooting for the bullseye or are they and just not sighted in while doing this? Great video by the way!
Sorry for the delay in getting back. I don't get on as often as I used to. The reason to shoot multiple shots is to check for consistency. Often people shoot in groups of 3. You want to aim for the exact same spot every time. If the shots are all very close, you can consider that your gun, sights, and ammo are all consistent and make adjustments accordingly. It is not uncommon to have several shots close together and on shot is a "flier". Meaning for one reason or another it hit target away from your other shots. Do some research before you purchase a scope. Find one that has the best reputation for a given price. Cheaper scopes will often drive you crazy because they will not shoot consistently. They will not "hold zero". Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. Keep in mind I am not an expert.
I just subscribed, one question, I wanted too get one a while back, but was wondering if I should get a .22 or .25, I want a quitter one. The thing is I want the 25 but not sure how loud they are
+EDGARRIVALKING 562 Thank you for subscribing! We really appreciate all of our subs. I would be happy to answer all of your questions. I can give you abrief answer here in comments, or you can email me at pawoodlands@gmail.com and i will take more time and get more specific. Whatever you prefer. Let me know. I have the .25. I'm very happy with my choice.
Those pellets are decent... Jsb are far superior. That Centerpoint scope is trash above 9x...its only good from 3x-9x... Anything above that the scope gets blury and/or the eye relief gets very sensitive.
Benjis have the smallest head diameter (0.245) of the 13 tins of .25 pellets i have. They shoot shit in my springer, and imagine being the size they are, won't ever be a top performer. Unless the barrel is tight. Predator polymags and h&n hornets shoot the best in my Benji trail.
+Joe doe As the title says, its just a first shots video. Not meant or represented as a review. Just take it for what it is. Thanks for the view and the comment. It's a great gun. I would but it again in a second.
