Very enlightening interview. I started reading Moser’s new translation of The Apple in the Dark and was flabbergasted by some of his syntax-like he said about Clarice, I wanted to “move things around a bit.” Knowing that Clarice wrote the same way in Portuguese really helps contextualize those choices.
