I'm a staff singer at St John's Church Lafayette Square, for 12 years now. Thank you for writing this song for our country. I wish we could blast this song from a loudspeaker atop the Washington Monument; everyone should hear it. It is so cathartic and so beautiful. Just amazing. ♥️

Here in Lafayette it's pronounced Laf-fee-yet. There's no I in it.

The song is referring to Lafayette Square in Washington DC (rather than Louisiana), so the people around there also use this original French pronunciation (named for Marquis de Lafayette), unlike in Louisiana.
