How does the points system work ? Or do you hav to KO the opponent?

KO is a guaranteed win and they keep track of who is the more dominant and effective fighter in the fight and that person will win. So if they fight about equal and the judges vote that, then they will have to fight another set of rounds/one more round to decide who will be the winner

Karate is a wonderful sport. I am (or should I say "was" ) a black belt. However, this competition is something ridiculous. A fighter without no concern for defending only to punch in a disordered form.

Just imagine if these guys turned to Muay Thai. Yea karate is good, in the real world, it’s tough to use explicitly.

It's tough to use any martial art explicitly. BJJ is touted as the end all be all art but if you look at the statistics for the ufc far more fights end in knockouts than submissions. A kick is a kick and a punch is a punch with on minor variations between arts and in a street fight without someone telling you first, if their good, your not going to be able to tell or care. It's not like someone would blast you in the face with a roundhouse and you just think "well thankfully that was a TKD kick or it might have hurt", come on!!

The difference is the rules of the competition. These guys have skills well beyond what is demonstrated, but they have to fight within the rules which prohibit attacking the face/head/neck with hands and elbows. It makes Muay Thai seem more effective, but the rules of this type of fighting reduce head injury. In reality Kyokishin karate and Muay Thai are very similar fighting styles.

@@spaight711 Agreed, but there are too many arguments (not that your making one) about fighters like this having certain rules in a ring that would limit them in a street fight and it's absurd to say the least. "Yeah but there's no rules in a street fight", yup, and they don't have follow those rules either, not a advantage for the average dude in that situation. But people think it will be their saving grace, silly.
