It's 2023 now and I've just returned my second EW3280U in two days. I liked everything about it, but both the first monitor from Amazon and the one benQ sent me as a replacement (with a 599 USD hold on my credit card) were missing a necessary firmware update to fix a known four second audio delay issue. At first the benQ rep wanted me to send back the one I bought from Amazon, and they would replace it. I'm wondering if I should run the risk of more re-boxing with a second replacement from benQ, since their first replacement did not in fact have the firmware applied (which can only be done by their techs). Their rep assures me that the next replacement, which I can buy direct from benQ, WILL have the firmware update applied- this time. Before mentioning anything about a necessary firmware update upon checking my model's serial number, the tech support agent directed me to Acer's website and having me update sound drivers as he said that would solve the problem. That makes NO sense. After spending years in IT support in the past, I was unamused with this troubleshooting process. Having said that, it looks like their serial numbers aren't really correlated with units that have been updated anyway. SO, that's why I've got buyer's remorse and uncertainty in even buying directly from benQ. In all other respects, this is a quality monitor. I'm not a gamer, but use it for home business work. I share most of the sentiments of this reviewer especially the helpful remote. I'm not sure if I'll really use the 90 degree pivot like on the PD3200U, but I bought a desk-mounted VESA monitor mount, and it allows a lot more range of motion than what this monitor provides out of the box. This mount is now attached to the desk despondent and unemployed in its role of holding up a 4K monitor. It can't go back to Amazon, as I've already turfed the box weeks ago.
Hi - When using the EW3280U 4K Entertainment Monitor with HDRi Technology | BenQ with my MacBook Pro 2018. I have my monitor connected via USB C. When I go into the monitor menu some features are greyed out: Brightness, Colour Mode and Colour Temperature. When I connect the monitor to my Windows 10 Desktop I see those features. I thought this monitor was fully supported by Mac? I am running macOS Catalina v10.15.7. How can I resolve this?
