Benro Adventure 2 Tripod is the perfect general tripod that does everything well, and doesn't cost too much.

What’s up and welcome back. GoatToaster9, JJ Shankles here talking about tripods. Specifically the Benro Adventure Series 2 Aluminum Tripod. I wanted to talk through what I was looking for when selecting this tripod to give you some things to think about when selecting your next tripod and what made me choose this one to purchase. This is not a sponsored video. I purchased this myself and really like it so now I am reviewing it after a few months of usage. Since this isn’t a sponsored video if you wanna help the channel out give this video a thumbs up or thumbs down and subscribe to this channel really helps the channel grow. But the short answer to what I like about this tripod is how much of an all around good tripod it is. It does everything pretty well.
Here are my top three considerations:
Load Capacity: 26.5 lb
Max Height: 61.4"
Folded Length: 20.7"
Weight: 4 lb (Carbon Fiber: 3lb)
The best solution I found is the Benro Adventure Tripod. It sits in the middle and can work in all these situations. This is a generalist tripod for someone that only wants to own one tripod. Lightweight at only 4lb (CF is 3lb) this is a midweight tripod, heavy enough to be very sturdy but serviceable for travel situations. Folded length of 20.7” without a head on it which is the length of an airplane carry-on item, so it can travel well. Not the smallest, but again it works for travel. The benefit of that height is the max height of 61.4” without a head, and I still have confidence in the sturdiness of the tripod at that max height.
This is an all around tripod. If you only use a tripod for one use case like travel only or studio work only then you can get a more specialized tripod, but this is for someone who dabbles in all areas and wants a tripod that can keep up with whatever you get into all for only $120 for the aluminum $250 for the Carbon Fiber version.
Features:
Leg angle locks
Aluminum and Magnesium construction (minimum plastic)
Spike feet accessories for dirt/sand/grass situations
Bag/weight hook for added stability
Nice carry case
Flip locks (which I love) (Benro Mach 3 has twist locks)
I haven’t had any issues with locks loosening after a few months of daily use.
Cons:
No leveling head
Works with ball head, or level with the feet.
Leg angle locks don’t pull in automatically
Not a huge deal, just something to know
Doesn’t turn into a mono-pod
Some similar tripods do this, but I haven’t used them
Jack of all Trades Master of None, better than Master on One. It all depends on what you use your tripod for and how much you want to spend on it. If you need a tripod that packs smaller, is lighter, extends higher, or carries more weight then this isn’t the tripod for you. I think this is a great price for a tripod that does a lot of things well.
