Bent SSQA Fix - Easy Way to Fix a Bent Skid Skid Steer Quick Attach

Noticed an alignment issue when trying to hook up to my bucket and forks. There were no visible signs that anything had bent like cracked or chipped paint. Apparently this is a common issue where the cross tubes in the center will actually twist in the middle.
The new camera man is still getting the hang of things but thanks for the help, Burns.

Same issue with my Kubota Grand L 4240. The 6X6 lumber and hydraulics moved it some, but it was still an inch off. Then I used a 14 lb hammer along with the hydraulics....and it still wouldn't move all the way. I ended up putting it up to a large tree in 4 wheel drive with hydraulics and it moved ... It's back straight again after several attempts. Take it easy during this step... you can move it more than you think. Thanks for posting this trick... I was about to cut and weld

I bent mine because one quick attach slipped out or didn’t fully latch in load, I’m glad it bent instead of the bigger frame so I wouldn’t reinforce the smaller one

The "Alighment-equalizer-torque" TUBE is MAINLY FOR SPACING ALIGNMENT. The "Fix" was almost the "right idea". Cutting-welding-reiforcing is only for when the tractor stalls out on Train tracks & gets demolished. Just cant give All my "secrets" away;;; hint: READ THE OPERATORS MANUAL.
@lonniechartrand
@lonniechartrand 10 месяцев назад
Everyone THINKS that welding an angle iron "brace" along the length of the tube to "strengthen" it are sadly doing potentially more harm than good! That round tube is purposely designed to torque, or flex, when extreme forces are placed on the SSQA plates!!! This prevents breaking or damaging the loader arms should you put those plates in a bind, or have your bucket, grapple, or whatever, come loose. If you cut the tube to realign those plates then you can weld a SMALL piece of angle iron across the cut joint, but I do not recommend a LONG piece across the whole tube.

I actually have never done anything to it since this video and it’s never bent again since. Been at least a couple years I think without looking at the date of the vid. I agree with what you’re saying and thank you for commenting
@John1911

I have to admit, that is a pretty slick idea. Use the tractor’s power to tweak it back instead of trying to push the plate into a tree. Regards, Marky

The 2 handles for the QA pins are all bent up. Must be thin steel fatigued over time from being pulled all the time
@DirtRoadLife1
@DirtRoadLife1 Год назад
I think they got bent up from pulling into brush and trash and they get caught up in stuff and bend when you move the loader forward or back. You’re right though they’re definitely bent. What I did in this video fixed my issue it’s worked ever since. But the handles have been bent before and still are after

Thanks! This just happened to me with my 59-hp Yanmar. I took the bucket off to fit the forks to unload a truck. I'm not sure how it got bent, but it happened when trying to install the frame for the forks. Spent hours staring at the frame trying to figure out how to correct it - now I have something to try!

Which side do you try this on. Having issues with Kubota13301. The side that is closing all the way or the opposite..
@DirtRoadLife1
@DirtRoadLife1 2 года назад
The block will force the top of the quick attach face outward. So just depends which one needs to move outward to be parallel with the one on opposite side. Let me know if that helps and good luck! You’ll have it straightened in no time

I wonder if your pins and or holes in the cylinder's and brackets are starting to get wore out and causing the two sides to not to work in sync.
@DirtRoadLife1
@DirtRoadLife1 3 года назад
Don’t think so buddy. I’ll check them out but I guess this is extremely common. The crossbar actually twists in the middle and shows no sign other than the pads aren’t aligned anymore. I googled it and a ton of results popped up of guys having the same exact issue and I told drew what happened and the exact thing happened on his dads as well. There’s other vids besides mine of guys fixing it on kubotas, NH’s etc

@@DirtRoadLife1 I think I am having the same problem on my SSQA. Truck is in the shop so I cannot check with the dealership, mine is a Mahindra 1636. From what I am reading this seems to be a somewhat common problem with SSQAs. It seems like solutions vary though you seems much simpler to do.

@@katrinaanon1038 put the block on the side where the top face would need to roll forward to be in line with the other. Then you can just curl your bucket back until they’re lined up. So just a little at a time and check until they’re flat with each other again

Or you could crack a hyd line on one of the cylinders and then move it to match the other and lock down the fitting… took a girl to tell you not to chop up your tractor 😉 Although your way is a lot faster. Looks like you have a worn bushing on the passenger side cylinder.
