So you're thinking about taking advantage of one of the incredible deals on Beretta's innovative micro-nine? There are a couple of things you should probably know about how Beretta is able to sell the pistol so cheap.
The scarcity of magazines is a red flag to me, as appealing as the APXA1's price is with rebates. I like to keep a minimum of 10 magazines per gun: 3 loaded for home defense, 4 for the range, and 3 as replacements to give the home defense mags a break every other month. Might look into the Walther PPS which is single stacked and seems similar to this.
Having a bunch of magazines is great but having them divided like that is the strangest thing I have ever heard. Also magazines don't need a break, the only thing that wears them out is using them not keeping them loaded.
I bought mine from Molly's Place Sporting Goods in September when they had it on sale for $275. I just got my $50 rebate about a week ago. So $225 for a Beretta is not bad imo. Mine came with 8 and 6 round mag with pinky extension. No tools though. Also mine had the plate with the dove tail sight. I swapped the sights for the Beretta Nano night sights. They fit perfect.
Liking this little pistol the more I handle it. The trigger is definitely getting smoother after each range trip and for the price and overall quality you just can't beat it.
Agreed. the trigger doesn’t bother me. It’s not like if a person ever have to use this gun in a defensive situation would they complain about a heavy trigger. It doesn’t matter at all and you would never even notice in that situation.
I bought mine bout 2 weeks ago “4/19/24”. I paid $269.99 plus tax. No extras in box and just an 8 rd mag. I added an optic red dot. For $140.. So far everything is good..
One of the most under rated firearms made. I own many of the Micro's, Sig's and others. However This is my goto firearm for EDC. I love shooting it. I have over 20,000 through the Nano and this gun has really morphed into perfection. Fantastic Stippling, fantastic serrations. Few Parts, easy to work on or clean with the easy take down. Mild shooting and IMO and for me, the best EDC trigger made. Love this gun. I have years of Point and shoot skills and this gun is a big asset. I did install a Bid Dot sight which is easy to quickly go on target while only watching the sight in the Peripheral view. I have about 20 of the Nano magazines which all work in the APX. This is the most solid gun made IMO. Almost over built. Just a great work horse. Thanks for the Video.
I bought a Taurus G2 111 Millenium 2 decades ago for about $250. Beretta and Taurus were once the same company. This is the best gun I ever had. The size is exactly the same. .It however has a 12 shot capacity +1.. Trigger is light as a feather about 5 lbs. I fired 1500 rounds before the first hiccup. Came with two mags and is compatible with the C3, C3C , so I have total of six mags . BTW you do a great presentation.
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll be sure to read any descriotions carefully if I decude to buy it online to make sure I get as advertised. I don’t plan on mounting optics either but the more flexibility on feature options, the more a gun can be tailored to suit ones needs such as adjustable sights but not a deal breaker for me either.
I'm in Ohio & just bought one of these from a local shop over the weekend; I got the plastic sight plate, but I did also get 2 mags, but they're both 6 round, & they both have the full extension bottom on them which I'm kinda bummed about bc it makes it alot harder to conceal, but they are comfy for gripping forsure. I'm pretty dissapointed with the blueing on the slide tho, mine already has a ton of scratches & wear on it & I haven't even shot it yet lol. Overall I do love the grip feel tho, & it's much more easy to conceal than my s&w SD9 full size & feels great in the hands.
Thanks for the PSA - if I get one, I'll probably wait a bit to see if the price dips around black friday time. But... Palmetto also lists these as "clearance", so perhaps this is the end of the line for these bargains. Either way, looking forward to the detailed range review!
I don’t know what happened to my original reply. Anyway… I think even if the APX A1 Carry gets discontinued, the good news is that Beretta seems committed to the APX modular system in general. So fire control parts should remain available. I’m going to take it out to the range, with 100 rounds of ammo, to “run it in” soon.
My wife purchased the APX A1 Carry from Bass Pro Shop about 3 months ago. Hers came with a Burris Fastfinder 3 red dot for a total of $389. I’ve shot it and it shoots well, it’s easily concealable but it’s not my favorite trigger. I’ve heard that trigger will improve with use and I’ve heard a couple have taken theirs in to have the trigger worked. Either way it’s a sweet gun for the price. However,,, one problem,,, The gun only came with one magazine and you can’t find extra ones anywhere. Nobody has them including Beretta. My wife finally wrote to Beretta and they did respond. They said there are none available right now because their supplier has not put any out lately and it’s unknown when they will. So who knows when or if she will get another one.
Sounds like they need another supplier. Thats lame. Looks like they just trying to clear out old stock by offering rebates and no accessories. Like mags.
Thanks. You just saved me 189US$ from a couple of websites, which also does not mention anything about this, despite they take the full original MSRP as reference (BERETTA APX-A1 Carry 9mm 3" 8rd Optic Ready Pistol | Black )
@@SuburbanRifleman absolutely and indeed. The only thing, I am wondering is if it makes sense to get one and wait a bit and then resell it for higher price. On the other hand, I believe that they are now flooding the market with this item, which will automatically lower all future prices.
right now (Dec 2023) Palmetto State Armory has this pistol on Christmas sale for $280 and the rebate is $100 bring the total to $180! Wish it had an extra magazine but willing to buy a spare mag for that price.
Good video and great information brother! Keep it up! You will certainly gain subscribers... even with youtubes shit algorithm when it comes to all things firearm related. I just ordered one today from PSA as they're going for $249.99 with the $50 rebate.
I hope so! My subscriber numbers keep going up but my channel seems to have stagnated. I doubt that I'm big enough for them to be "shadow banning" me. Anyway, I'll just keep plugging along. Hope the APX A1 Carry works out for you.
I bought one last year with the fast fire red dot mounted, but I didn’t receive a 6 round magazine, no rear sights, no tools or anything else. Just the pistol with the 8 round magazine and red dot mounted. 😢
It makes sense for Beretta to cut cost and make the plate with a fixed plastic sight because if you put on a red dot optic you no longer have a rear sight. So thats kind of a waste.
@sleigh4019 Can you please do us a favor and post a link if you find any in stock for a reasonable price? Cause I'm looking at midwest gun works, magwarehouse, ebay, along with literally every other reseller I've checked over the past couple months, and they are all very clearly marked out of stock on the mags, or else are marked way up (like $75 on ebay - no thanks) There are a couple of active discussions about this topic on Reddit. I just got off the phone with Beretta and they're expected to be back in stock in April, but then they also said that they'd be available in Feb, so who knows...
The Compact is longer and taller than the Carry. It is also a bit wider because the Compact has a double stack magazine. I am skeptical about the SIG M18. I have no personal experience with the P320 but I’ve heard too many reports of failures for me to place a great deal of faith in it. If I were looking for a compact, polymer-framed, pistol from SIG, I’d think about an SP2022. I bought one just about a week ago and shot it for the first time today. There are some really good deals on the SP2022 right now.
I have the compact and love it. But the carry being a reskin of the Nano and a conpletely different system than the rest of the APX line makes me worry to buy one. Right now they are like 160$ after rebate.
Guess what else they don’t mention….the optics plate adapter costs another $38 bucks. I have one of the dove tail older models and I’ve never had an issue but I’d love to put an optic but pisses me off to have to buy the plate separately. My S/W came with 5 plate adapters in the box..
I thought you could call Beretta and ask for a single plate of your choice and they’d send it to you but I could be completely off base. Beretta hasn’t been impressing me of late.
My rear sight fell off (I lost it), and my front sight was loose. I was contemplating getting a red dot sight, but after the rear sight fell off, I suppose that was my sign to invest on a red dot. Needless to say, I was not happy the rear sight fell off and was lost. smh. I do, however, love the pistol itself. Feels great in the hand and conceals easily. Trigger is just fine. I don't have a gripe on the trigger. Only downside is the small mag options. There should be at least a 10 round mag for it, minimum. I paid $179 before taxes and fees through Palmetto State Armory, and the Beretta rebate. All and all, I'm happy with it.
Oh my… I only submitted mine a couple of days ago. I guess it will be a while. I noted, when I submitted the rebate application, that it gave some ridiculous wait time. I don’t remember exactly but it think maybe 8-12 weeks? Seems a bit strange when I applied electronically and chose an electronic method of refund.
@@SuburbanRiflemani have not submitted my rebate yet. Does it give you the option of electronic deposit as opposed to a mailed in check? Thanks in advance
@@meancheeto I don’t know about electronic deposit but PayPal is an option. Which is weird since PayPal won’t let you pay for a gun. But apparently rebates are okay?
It took a lot of searching, but I found a 6-rd. one with the pinky extension on Officer Store ... but it was $25, and with shipping and tax that went up to $40
I’m glad you pointed out the differences between the two “identical “ pistols I don’t like that Beretta, nor the other outlets mentioned the changes in the new package Kinda shitty in my opinion Beretta is a marquee name…I suppose they are trying to bump quarterly profits I’m not trolling, but I notice you didn’t mention the trigger I know you don’t mind it, I think it’s horrible All in all a balanced review
The trigger is trash, but if I’m pulling this gun, I’m not at all concerned about a crisp trigger. If this comes out, the guys on top of me. I decided it was a trade off for deep concealment.
I’ve bought 4 berrettas over the last 20 years and the rear sights have fallen off first time at the range with all of them. After the 4th one I decided I wouldn’t ever buy another berretta, ever. First one was the 9000s back when it first came out, then the 8000 cougar when it came out, then the pico and then the original apx. Yeah I’m done with them.
Don’t expect to get the hundred dollar rebate anytime soon. I’ve waited 15 weeks and still have nothing. They say to expect it within 10 weeks. I’ll never buy another Beretta.
Nah, he's comparing the APX A1 Carry with another APX A1 Carry. Beretta changed what they ship with around the time they started heavily discounting/rebating them, cutting back on the 2nd mag and the offer for the free optic plate. They *do* have different model #s if you're referring to SKUs, but they'll all still the APX A1 Carry.
@@CHChris no his wife's is a first generation apx which was not the apx a1 they change the trigger for the apx a1 learn your guns before you try to rebuff someone notice his wife's said apx on the top of the slide which is the first gen apx model not the apx a1
@@DemonGunWorks44 Dude, google the first gen APX Carry (or, to be more accurate, the second gen of the Nano) has a completely different frame and slide. And my own APX A1 Carry (which is right here on my belt) says "APX" on it just like *both* of the ones in the video. Seriously, get over yourself. Hypocrite.
I could love mine, but... With 0 magazines available in a year, this is the worst and slowest loading revolver you can buy. It has moved me from recommending to absolutely not recommending.
FYI, I've just gotten off the phone with Beretta support, they're now saying the mags will be back in stock by end of April. Still sucks - by then I'll have had this gun for nearly 6 months with just the one 8-rd mag. But at least they're promising that they're on order and will be coming. Fingers crossed...
It's July 2024 and you still can't find magazines for the full size A1. Many of us had our $50 rebates denied for invalid reason(s). I'm dumping mine at Cabelas for a gift card. I have thousands of dollars worth of Beretta firearms. I will no longer do business with this horrific company. Too many excellent American companies I can spend my money at.
Do NOT buy from Beretta, they have the worst customer service in the entire firearms industry. If you own one of these pistols, good luck finding magazines... they are indefinitely sold out across the nation. Beretta has zero aftermarket support for non-92fs guns.
@@robiky4518 check for the APX A1 Carry specifically next time, you will see that you are probably wrong. In addition, good luck getting any rebates or a rear sight/optic plate (depending on what model you purchase.) The list goes on and on for non-response points for this pistol with Beretta.
But as a work gun that i would worry about anything other thwn a tool i may need then who cars its 200 bucks compared to anoth g19 for work which is 3 tomes the cost
