Berge Everest Docking at Port of Caofeidian, China 

At over 360m in length and with a dead-weight tonnage of 388,134MT, the Berge Everest (built 2011) is the first-ever Valemax to dock at Port Caofeidian in China. The docking of the Berge Bulk owned vessel took place on Monday, 16 November 2015. Although described as an experimental call, it is evidence of China's eroding restrictions on Valemaxes. Valemax traffic had begun at Qingdao’s Dongjiakou terminal in July 2015 and Port Caofeidian follows as the second in line. A total of eight berths in China are on a pre-approved list for official approval for Valemax calls.
