Arguably the greatest Verdi tenor and baritone, this was bound to sound excellent. Where was Cappuccilli when Solti recorded Don Carlo?!

those days I used to be in Wiener Staatsoper every night, but never heard it so fast. Its too fast! I was looking if I was on 0, 75 😀

Bergonzi solito suono costruito e artefatto, emissione sempre un po' forzata e sempre alla ricerca delle posizioni. Cappuccilli un gigante!

Bergonzi calante as usual. But nice video over all. The way the conductor imitates Toscanini is really cute.

That "conductor" is Alberto Erede. It's not like he's imitating Toscanini, it's beacuse he studied its well known technique which was absolutely a great idea considering Toscanini was one of the best on conducting Italian opera.
