I have to admire Alexi's positive attitude toward solving problems. He spends precious time making things work, not wasting time trying not to make things work. If we can only get a Bering that will get up to 16 knots, then all will be good in the universe.

My 'guess' is Alexei has been around the block a few times and dealt with much more difficult customers. Since this is a first off with building a 75' charter, I reckon it's best to go over all ideas and decide what works best. It's not like Naughty Styles hasn't seen many yachts and maybe figured out what would work best for them and crew.

Guys, this is awesome! I love following this build process, even though (I'm afraid to say) I'm a bit behind on the videos that you have posted. Something that I haven't seen addressed yet, in the design, is placement of the many TV screens that will be on board. For the cabins, I hope that you'll be putting some of the larger screens on the ceiling above the beds, instead of as popup screens from cabinets. I tried the above-the-bed idea in my house, and it makes so much more sense than wall mounts or popup screens if the intention is to make it primarily viewable from the bed. Think about it: No more pillows to prop up just to watch TV... Much more comfortable and frees up some valuable storage space.

@Xero1of1
@Xero1of1 Год назад
Hmm. It's very interesting to see the plans they've got so far. I think, for me, I would go with a different layout. Understanding that you want to charter, the space available to your guests needs to seem both expansive and accessible with no jarring breaks in available areas for them to pitter-patter about. Your crew, especially your deckhand, would need to have quick access to important systems and rooms, such as the engine room. You want to have two master's and an owners suite... but you also want some separation for privacy's concern. You also want to have plenty of access outside for them to be able to hang out as well. I think you need two clear sections in your yacht... A green section, where everyone is welcome, and a blue section which is reserved for you and your crew. As a live-aboard, you want to be comfortable, but you also don't want to take away too much from the guests. As such, your access, like hallways and the like, don't need to be as wide as the guests' access, so you can save some space there. I think too much space is wasted on the middle deck. (I'll call them upper, middle and lower deck) It's a ginormous lounge area... Fun... but I think it'll actually make your boat feel smaller to your guests. Here's what I've come up with in my head... On the lower deck, bow, take that room and make it your owner's suite. Full beam. From there to the engine room bulkhead, separate the area into thirds, port to starboard. Take one of those thirds along the starboard or port sides and divide that space into thirds from bow to stern. Take the third closest to the bow and turn that into a studio/office. Use a wide door to connect to the owners suite so it can be opened and considered an extension of the owner's suite. The remaining two thirds of that section will become the crew quarters. There should be enough room for a couple bunks, couple hanging lockers and a decent head, along with the washer, dryer and whatever other necessities you put in there. Connect the Owner's Suite office to the crew quarters for easy access to the washer/dryer and add a door to the engine room on the stern end of the crew quarters. So that used up the bow and a third of the midship area of this deck. Use the remaining for a master's suite and either two smaller cabins or another master suite. Now we go up to the middle deck. The area towards the bow that you used for crew quarters and utility can now be used for 2 additional cabins. Use up a bit of the space your kitchen area used to make the cabins a little larger. That gives you 4 or 5 guest cabins, including one or two Master Suites. Now, from the stern bulkhead of these cabins, to about mid-ship, divide the area in half, port to starboard. One of these halves will be a full-sized kitchen with breakfast nook that is open to the other half. Within the non-kitchen half, put your barstools at the counter and a couple small, but comfy chairs and low table against the outer bulkhead. Stair access to both the guest areas and Owner's Suite/Crew quarters will also be housed here along with the door to the bow cabins. By doing this, you're reducing some of the open area that is empty space, giving your self a bigger kitchen and adding another couple hangout spaces for your guests. Depending on how you want to do it, you could have the breakfast nook at the centerline of the ship, and also have a bar/bar counter to the stern of the kitchen. Keep everything open (except support pillars)... If your eyes can see more area, the mind will think the area is bigger, even if the area is actually smaller or split up. From midship to stern, turn this into a living room, kind of like how it is already. Have an open staircase to the upper deck. You want to create openness without actually wasting space... Plus I'm sure Bering can make it look beautiful. Maybe install a wine fridge under it? Eh...? Ehhhhhh? lol. The upper deck where your Owner's Suite is currently will become a formal dining room. You'll be up higher so you'll have a better view which will make for nicer meals. Additionally, you'll be creating an indoor hangout area by the helm. Add in a mini-bar. You can also add a dumbwaiter directly from the kitchen to the upper deck for easy transport of food and other goodies. It'll also make for a really cool hangout area, since it'll have the best views. And when you don't have guests, you'll have it all to yourselves. :) With all of this, you've effectively created your green zone and blue zone and your guests will be none-the-wiser. You've got ample space for entertaining, plenty of space for lounging, both inside and outside. You'll also have a full-sized kitchen and easy access from the owner's suite to the engine room if need-be, in case things go bump in the night when they should go brrr. Add some full-sized windows to the owner's suite and you'll have one helluva view there too. The only drawback is the increased distance from the Owner's Suite to the helm, but with the way technology is these days, you could add some displays to the office that would show nearly everything the helm would anyways, along with some controls. Call it a 'remote-helm'. It's all about making the most use of the space available. If you've managed to read all of this, my hat's off to you, lol. These are just my ideas though, so you can feel free to completely ignore them if you're happy with your layout as-is. I look forward to seeing how everything turns out!!! Cheers!! :D

Hi Alexei, Rico and Victoria, Love your videos and I love the BERING line... I am inspired, I have been researching where I might go with having my own... Question: what do you mean by "negative windows"? thanks!

Siri always so much fun to see Alexei! This video is a lot of fun and really interesting! I really enjoyed seeing the shipyard and the ships currently under construction. I find the full construction part very interesting. It’s exciting to see the space where your yacht is being built and to know that will be seeing footage of the actual construction! Love from Vermont

Very exciting to build such a boat and make all the decisions to meet your needs. Sadly I can’t afford a Bering but I guarantee your videos with the owner has got a lot of people looking closer at steel and displacement. Looking forward to the next instalment.

I know for a fact that these two are responsible for at least two orders being on the books. They are the best brand ambassadors Bering could hope for.

I thought y’all’s hull had already been built on a previous episode when y’all took a tour of the interior structure? Congratulations on the new Yacht build! Would love to hopefully one day get to go spend a week on a boat/yacht in the ocean for the first time. I’ve never been on or in the ocean but have a deep love for it as well as marine life.

Such a great video guys! Just love watching you three interact! Chef and deckhand/steward is a great idea! I really can't wait for, what will be the ultimate yacht tour video. For us to be able to be part of your journey is so gratifying hehe.

Thanks. It is very exciting. When I win the lotto I'll buy a pre-owned yacht and have modifications made gradually as needed. It will be less stressful for this old man.

Recommendation: only light - whity coloured wood panels inside and a lot of polished stainless steel everyway! Also ask for a lot of fishing equipmet installed (nets. rods, harpoons, scubas and etc.), secret safe for weapon and money, two or three rescue boats, backup radio stations, helipad on the nose is desirable. Last wish: turquoise (light green) will be very popular in the future instead of white!

one of my favourite boats on youtube is a jay benford 57 named teddi bear and it also has an amazing master on the lower deck but my choice would be the guest it has on the upper deck behind the pilot house due to views alone so I support your guys decision
