Every day when I feed my sows I walk around among them, give them all a scratch and a look over to check on there condition. This keeps them friendly and easy to work with @PorkDork420
Considering raising berkshires. What is the average time of raising to harvest? I know berkshire pigs take longer to mature but is there an optimum weight? Thanks!
O Lord, The meat will not be as good as a 320 pound pigs quality of meat. It all depends on how the animals are fed. A 600 pound animal can have excellent quality meat if fed correctly. One issue when they get that big is the fat content is way more than a smaller animals and the cut out value will be less for the farmer .
