I worked an event this past holiday weekend in northwest Massachusetts. To say it was hot and humid is an understatement! It was sweltering. Even so, 1000’s of cars and people pulled in to see the excellent presentation of amazing artists and their works. Everything was on display at the base of the ski mountain in the lodges and outside in tents. A beautiful nature backdrop adds to the already impressive atmosphere. Definitely a summer highlight for those who attended. For those that couldn’t attend, I made this video. I didn’t have my trusty GoPro with me, so I used my iPhone and did a quick run through (due to the mega heat) so people everywhere can get a chance to check it out and see what it’s like. I hope you enjoy!
The Berkshires Arts Festival, one of the most anticipated summer events in the Berkshires, was held on July 5, 6 and 7 at Ski Butternut on Route 23 in Great Barrington, Mass. Now in its 25th year, the juried show features 200 artists and artisans from across the country and offers outstanding original works in ceramics, painting, jewelry, glass, wood, mixed media, sculpture, fashion, and photography for display and sale. The three-day festival includes a robust schedule of musical performances including the Lucky Bucket Band, workshops, demonstrations including Dan Bellow at the Potters Wheel, or check out Silk Marbeling Interactive, as well as puppet shows for children including the Puppet Brigade, and a delicious selection of food and beverages including a wine bar.
Another great weekend of fine artists gathered together by Richard and Joanna Rothbart who have been putting this on for over 20 years!
