One of your best interviews! Noah is an extraordinary musician, the proof being that he is concertmaster of a fabled German orchestra. American orchestras often hire European maestros, but the reverse is seldom true. He can play standard rep from the European tradition, as well as American music and even Jewish music of Eastern Europe.

It was a delight to hear Noah speak about his musicianship. I had the opportunity to hear him play in a piano trio with Robert Levin and Peter Wiley. It was a beautifully nuanced performance. The Berlin Philharmonic is lucky to have him.

In 2016 that trio recorded the Schubert Piano Trios (for the label, Le Palais des Dégustateurs). It's one of the treasures my collection: ravishingly beautiful playing, and chamber-musicianship of the very highest order. It is also profoundly insightful Schubert-playing, particularly the E flat trio, which, with all its cuts restored and all repeats taken, is a revelation. I must have played this recording at least 20 times, and every time I have to sit in silence for several minutes afterwards, just thinking about what I've heard, and how privileged I feel to have heard it.

Thank you for a very nice interview with Noah- Bendix-Balgley, who is as good as a Violinist as being great in interviews. I was almost ready to suggest that he should go with his gut when I heard him saying the same. So, do it!

Thanks. I saw him over 50 times at the Philharmonie live. My all time favorite Concertmaster. Follow him on IG. He seems to be such a nice and down to earth guy. Especially with Blomstedt conducting it is a joy to watch and listen.
