Was just wondering today how you've been getting on with your taper, and voilà!! I also REALLY wanted to tell you what your Danube run inspired me to do this summer, not that it's at all comparable to your run BUT it was totally inspired by you!!! I've just completed 9 days of a 10-day journey running the entire length of the Canal de Bourgogne (the Burgundy Canal)... I just reached 263km today after really struggling through a 43km day (by far my biggest and most painful day of the lot!!) leaving 22km to polish off tomorrow morning to reach the start of the canal at the Yonne river at Migennes, for a total of 285km in 10 days!!! The canal is actually much shorter than that of course, but includes all the added running to get to and from the canal from train stations and bus stops to my accommodation... I didn't carry my stuff each day like you did but used public transport. AND only nice French dogs, usually being carried or towed in cycle trailers or baskets!!😁 Kieran I would never have ever imagined doing such a thing without your example, it's been just HUGE for me. I only started running at the beginning of Covid lockdown and watching you last summer has changed my life, as you can see!!! Hey Bev, This makes me so happy reading this. And my hats off for your incredible adventure. It sounds magic. And tough. And all the good things these adventures should be.
