I´m no sure if you have listened to him singing I wanna know what love is in the car, no special equipment, no editing, raw vocals it´s him, the car and a cell phone, check the quality of his whistles and tell me what you think about that, no post production according to most voice coaches specialists , I´m not saying you´re wrong I´m just saying that he doesn´t need special effects or voice treatment to sound the way he does, he sounds just as good singing in his living room, for the sake of being on RU-vid and selling his work, yes there might be the ones working with him who think it´s best to make improvements, but honestly it´s doesn´t make that much of a difference. Just wanted to point that out.
I will absolutely check that out. I also want to be clear, I was not criticizing Gabriel or not trusting that he has an insane amount of talent. It’s hard to come across any video performance pre-recorded or live that doesn’t have some level of mixing and processing added to it and I don’t find anything wrong with that either. I love the texture of his voice and was only stating someone overdid some delay on the back end, however, it was still beautiful. My next reaction video will be your recommendation. It’s all love.
He does not speak English & how many years ago should always be considered. Gabriel is a Gospel singer who began to venture out into English Pop music. Although, so many pop artist today are not great singer’s. I’m commenting early & I appreciate a vocal analyst over a simple “Wow!” Reaction. ✌🏼. That’s called the camera cue. here a different version for last Christmas during a gala in Bucharest, Romania. Gabriel just had a throat infection but he still sang wonderfully with the Opera Symphony Orchestra. Whether the sound is reworked or not, it doesn't really make a difference to Gabriel. I've been following GH for a minute and I can say I have not heard the same whistle twice. GH has so many acrobatic techniques in his arsenal toolbox. Can you explain to me what you mean about being too processed? I appreciate your analysis and support. ❤
Hi Arlene, I love that you have been following GH for a while, his whistles are incredible and leave me awe struck. So, what do I mean by being too processed? What I mean, is that this video goes through post production, which is a process of mixing the sound to balance out the audio for better balance. During this process, sometimes effects are added to the mix like auto tune, delay, reverb, compression etc. Not to say these were all added to his audio. Let me be clear, there is absolutely nothing wrong with mixing audio, it is part of the process and does NOT reduce the obviously talented. Even live performances are mixed and sometimes have effects thrown on the vocals. During this very specific song, Oh Holy Night, towards the end I can tell someone added TOO MUCH delay and possibly a little auto-tune. It sounded beautiful, but strange. I feel whomever did this could have dialed it back a little because GH’s natural voice didn’t require that much processing. I hope this explains what I meant a little better. It’s all love and is not criticism directly on GH.
@bermeatic thank you for the respectful explanation. All I know and can say, GH does not use auto-tune or lip-syncing. This was a problem before and he started singing in his car to clarify the misunderstanding. His videos are a one-time take.😎
