Last week, I watched "Into the woods" (original cast) for the first time. Henceforth, I've been singing this earworm song. How wonderful it is to hear THE Bernadette Peters (the only witch I've ever sympathised with) sing it today. She does not age... Nor does her voice! As gorgeous and lovely as ever.

I have been a fan of Bernadette since I was a kid. I have always admired her inner and outer beauty, her voice, her acting...she has not aged. She is ageless. Her voice and sincerity singing this song made me cry. It hit home.

I was lucky enough to be Bernadette's dresser a few years ago on a show she did in Westhampton. She shines like a star on and off stage because she really is one. Such a delight to everyone she dealt with. Thanks for this!

The thing is - this years musical at my high school was going to be into the woods. We only got one performance (which is more than others) but we usually do 4. This just popped up and I'm literally crying right now 😭

I played this song at my dad's funeral 23 years ago, when I was 23 (I played it on the piano, and had given everyone a copy of the lyrics). My dad was a doctor and I've been wondering what he might think of the pandemic. This song gave me a lot of peace back then and it still does. Thank you, Bernadette!!!! ♥️💕

@Cindy Klenk No, no, I wouldn't have been able to sing, either. I had a copy of the lyrics included in the printed program that everyone received at the entrance, leaving me free to just play. I did introduce the song and refer people to the lyrics, and say a few words about my dad. What did you end up doing at your dad's service? Did you incorporate the song that you wanted to use or do something else?

Since the Animaniacs reboot was announced I went looking up the VAs to the show. Rita's songs were always a highlight to the series as a child. Hearing this lovely woman all these years later, her voice is still that of stunning grace. Simply beautiful.
