I emulated his game. I was fifteen in '84. I've visited his hometown: Fort Green, Bk. I kicked ass emulating his spin jump shot, power lay ups, off balance jump shot, and not allowing my defender to breathe. I earned respect in the playgrounds of Uptown NYC.
Great year for me as a knick fan. Bernard in his prime. Greatest offensive player the knicks ever had. His last great full year before he got hurt. Also the Knicks were the only team to take the eventual NBA Champion celtics to 7 games in the playoffs.
People truly don't know how bad Detroit's defense used to be before they became the Bad Boys, in fact I believe that they're in(G.B.W.R.)for being in the highest scoring game ever along with the Denver Nuggets!!!
As a Pistons fan, after this game, I said this is one of the greatest players I've ever seen. He was always so smooth with it his dribbling, his dunking, his shot.
As a scorer in his prime - yes. Just as unstoppable. But Jordan could do everything - and throw in 6 titles, which is why Michael is considered the best ever. Bernard was my fav player when I was a kid. Greatest offensive player the knicks ever had.
