2:56 sounds like fireworks to me. or a terrorist attack? ;-)

I've never heard a string on any instrument make that noise when it snapped! It was probably something electrical, it even made Bernstein flinch. As far as the brass are concerned, they are not the best, but out of tune, no. The standard of this recording is very poor and doesn't help anyone.

The snap was probably a stage light. You can see the corresponding flash. Not the best recording either.

It's an exploding stage light not a snapped string or fireworks.
