The sound quality of this clip is superb! Really brings back memories of commuting to work in Liverpool on the old X67 service from Burscough, usually a Plaxton bodied Leopard. Loved the whine from the epicyclic transmission mated to a venerable Leyland 680...
Davross hi there would that mean it's under pressure for slow changes ,, or just how it's tuned?? I haven't had much to do with the gearbox side of it, but I'm familiar with the gear shifters, I remake and restore them..
When I was a kid in 1960’s & 70’s in Perth, Australia, we had Leyland Worldmasters, looks like the same pneumatic gear change and very similar sound 😄.
This is very classic, I've driven many Leopards and Atlanteans, including a manual Leopard which is a very different experience to driving a Pneumo one! I'm aching for another shot of one!
I spent a good few years driving PWK2W a 57 seater with a manual box great coach but no power on the hills and the temperature hitting the red zone on the M62 long drag. I went all over and I never want to see Blackpool ever again London is OK though. All gone now and i have not driven a coach since 2000 like you say good times.
