The finals were a complete shit show. It was probably the first time I was yelling at my screen over skateboard related content. I just couldn't believe the BS going on throughout the whole thing. Glad you covered this and called them out.
I used to skate the same park as Tyler when he was like 13-16 or something, and he was a local crusher. I honestly believe Berra stifled his progress. Tyler has, or had, potential to be a great street skater. Maybe I am wrong, but I hope he is happy though.

Cole didn’t want to be there, if he did he would have just kept on doing different 360s to knock Jamie out. I used to follow Jamie on Instagram he does some really flashy moves, but he never does anything a hardcore. He never hits big drops or rails, I understand why no big board sponsor will pick him up.
One of my greatest achievements was the berrics replying to my comment on an insta post where I was informing people that the berrics didn't create the game of skate, and nor the original rules, and all they do is have their own version of the rules haha. Pretty sure it was Steve Berra :'D

I'm sorry you've been sick. Nyjah has been a little sick too. He was over at my place and I made him chicken noodle soup. I had to get store brand since I'm not a big time gold medalist like him but he's so cool and nice that he didn't even complain. Well we were watching the berrics and steve came on screen. I don't know what it was but every time he came on screen my poor wittle nyjah's fever would go up!!! I don't trust the back of the palm against the forehead method so I had him lie down on back while I pressed my face against his rock hard abs. That's when I heard it, I'll never forget it. As I had my ear pressed against those gold medal abs I heard the cutest, "scientology sucks, I bet I'm a better kisser than him." I looked up and he was looking down at me smiling. He still had a piece of chicken noodle soup on his upper lip but I didn't care. I knew that even though we were just friends, I was going to cure him with my chicken noodle kisses.

if tyler had won after being eliminated like 3 times in the bracket i would have been pretty upset, same for cole even though i love the cobra it just would have felt so weird and wrong... but i guess that would have been a fitting end to this tournament

I might be wrong, but when they say “pop your trick” as long as you “pop” what follows doesn’t matter. So if you pop a fs shuv and then pivot the rest then it should just count. Now if you don’t pop and the board just slides on the ground, THEN that doesn’t count.
Yeah I'm pretty sure that's what they meant - you can pivot/slide some of the trick as long as you pop it to begin with. Besides, for frontside bigspins, both switch and regular, the pivot style vs the full rotation are two distinct styles that can both look great. I love doing the last bit of the turn late, looks sick if it's on purpose. Now, those 360's the one dude was trying to get away with? Hell no. Only for one of my homies to stay in the game when playing with friends. Gifted Hater has some funny/accurate takes, but some stuff also goes right over his head.
this is why i say Baker 4 Life. this type of skating that scientology steve tried to promote makes me physically ill. in fact, anything steve and his cult of scientologists does makes me physically ill.
They'd be better off condensing the whole thing down to a week, just stream a few battles every night and have the final on the saturday. Far less chance for injury or skaters bug chasing themselves out of contention.
Of course the pros are gonna lose. Their too busy progressing street skating. That’s what made BATB cool. You could watch the best street skaters duke it out to see who has the best flat game. It’s way more boring just watching some 20 or 18 year old no-name, flat ground tech god win because that’s all they do. It’s no surprise that the kid who can nollie back 3 front foot impossible late flip 180 revert casper sex change won. Berrics used to be cool because it was such an enigma. You’d only see videos of it. Nobody outside of the top street skaters would skate there. It wasn’t inclusive and that’s what made it cool. Now it just seems like anybody with the right about of money can just go like it’s Camp Woodward

its so weird to me that jamie slides flat ground 3's because he literally does blizzard flips, gazelle flips, AND fuckin 360 bigger flips and its like you can do it while kickflipping/varial/treflipping but cant just ollie and do it?
not to mention in his training videos he has on hop king he had a sw fs 360 kickflip as one of his deathblows and he would land it first t. oh but regular fs 360? yeah lemme just powerslide the shit outta this
it's weird because this mf can do both without the revert, I watched a hop king vid and he did both tricks fully rotated, maybe he was scared or something, his fucking bs 360 was fully rotated with his back foot.
