Florence was a very beautiful woman. Look at her pictures from 1965-1966 she was stacked (from her words) I'm not surprised that Pops Gordy was flirty with her and Flo was very sassy, earthy and took no crap.

I met Dennis Edwards at the age of 12 near the ED SULLIVAN SHOW where I had tickets for the rehearsal and Sunday night show when he first joined the TEMPTATIONS. He was the friendliest of the group. I could see the change in him once he started using hard core drugs. It's such a shame. What a great singer he was. Happy he said his Mother helped him get himself back together.

Morning Nay! 😁 Without Anna, Esther and Gwen Gordy, Motown wouldn't have been Motown, something Berry himself reiterated over the years. Also it seems Motown already had Diana pegged as the leader from the jump.

And by the time they had, Aretha was already working with a different label. But they did eventually hang around Detroit they was all good friends with the Franklin family.... but Motown went on overseas tours too starting off with Stevie wonder

If you want to know the real story of Motown, Berry's second wife Raynoma Singleton wrote a book called Berry, Me and Motown: the Untold Story. She played a part in the success of Motown. People don't talk about what she did for Motown mainly because of Berry. She would turn tricks for Berry.

Raynoma Gordy Singleton was born Raynoma Mayberry in Detroit, Michigan on March 8, 1937. She was a singer and played 11 instruments. She played a vital role in the early days of Motown as the business partner and second wife of Berry Gordy Jr., the record label's founder. She created arrangements for Motown's studio musicians, taught future stars like Smokey Robinson the fundamentals of music theory, was a backup singer on many early songs, was a producer, and the label executive who signed the first contract with Stevie Wonder. They divorced in 1964. After leaving Motown, she started the label Shrine with her third husband songwriter Eddie Singleton. It failed after a few years. She went on to become as an assistant to Diana Ross, a manager for the band Apollo, and an executive producer of Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell. Her book, Berry, Me, and Motown: The Untold Story, was published in 1990. She died of brain cancer on November 11, 2016 at the age of 79.

The whole thing about Diane’s voice is that it was bland and didn’t stand out above the music, B da Gordy’s whole think was double back crossing over, not like blacks crossing over to white, but getting the white market to cross over to the black. If that makes sense.
