Berserk truly is inspirational masterpiece to be referenced for decades to come gone but never forgotten

I think the ultimate testament to Berserk's incredible level of influence is the fact that Berserk became *so* popular that we made the middle ages a real thing.

Another possible inspirations: + Goblin Slayer: being literally the expanded version of The Evil (troll) Horde part of Millennium Falcon Arc. + Ubel Blatt: the similar case on rise & fall of the character through betrayals. + Devil May Cry series: A bit of a stretch but worth a look. Basically rivalry between "brothers" where MC Dante wield giant sword, use firearms, & Vergil is much more graceful cold design by wielding a katana. + Shin Angyo Onshi: The similarity of themes & plots are astounding to the point that some people said it's Korean Manhwa's Berserk. Although I would argue that it's a rare case of remarkable coincidences. Such similarity are like the Faustian Horror theme, the betrayals between brothers, broken unforgiving realm, rise & fall of a kingdom, nice mix of historical & folklore & fantasy. This manga/manhwa also arguably could give us the glimpse of Berserk ending (as the series actually ended properly). + Dragon's Dogma: some of the design stuffs in the game are straight up inspired by Berserk, while also the game itself have literal Berserk guest contents in it (Berserker armor & White Falcon Armor).

In my personal opinion I thought that Radhan looked like Grunbeld more than anyone else

As influential as Berserk is there are plenty of different things that inspired the creation of Berserk. In fact, there is actually a whole book on the subject called Berserk: With Darkness Ink that explains many of the numerous works that led to the creation of Berserk. Definitely worth checking out if you are a fan.

You also forgot Gael is also a reference to Guts like Artorias with similar moves using a repeating crossbow.

The stone swords may be inspired by Berserk, but I think they were inspired by the same stone swords you can see in Norway. Given this game takes inspiration in nordic and celtic mythology, it can make sense.

GUNGRAVE!!! Ahhh that is one of the best Berserk like anime I have watched so far. Warhammer 40k has ALOT of Berserk like similarities within its immense amount of lore, and has been around for just as long as berserk, if not longer. Warhammer has been around since 1983, but specifically 40k started in 1987. Honestly if you are craving a Berserk styled space opera set in the future, but on an INSANE galaxy sized scale, then 40K is the thing. Over 500 books, Comics, video games, table-top war games with miniature building, and a wealth of lore that is constantly expanding. It is the next best thing to Berserk in terms of grim-dark fantasy full of dark gods, planet devouring demons, massive violent wars, and all other types of themes found in berserk.

So sad that there was no Dragons Dogma in the video. The armors and weapons of both guts and Griffith were in one version of the game, the low level wizard staff is definitely berserk inspired, Mercedes has resemblance to Farnes, Gransoren and it's duke and mistress have similarities to Charlotte and her dad and his lust for her, there's even a wholeass cut scene, there are r@P€ ogers, I could go on...

Berserk in inspired DMC 1 Dante's personality and the red orbs look like behilits. Dante's brother vergil also has a giant sword and wears armor and his name is Nero Angelo black angel so even grasping at straws it seems inspired.

A thing souls veterans would recognize that people new to elden ring wouldn't is that technically elden ring is set in the dark souls/ demon souls/ bloodborne universe, and literally the only connection is Patches, a recurring character in all the games (which is proof the universes are connected)

Rykard I think is a direct reference to Grunbeld in is apostle form with the head of a man laden with crystal embedded in the body of a snake or drangen in the case of berserk

Also if anyone payed close attention to the Melania boss fight, she transformed into the rot goddess which in my opinion seem to resemble the time Griffith became the 5th God of the god hand

I think general radhan is supposed to be based off grunbeld, not only because of their gigantic stature and fiery red hair. Both were considered great warriors at the height of their (mortal) lives. Both were subjected to the lowest points of their humanity (grunbeld becoming an apostle and radhan losing his sanity to scarlet rot) but their main qualities remain, which was the urge to stay a warrior. Even after losing their respective humanity they still honoured the rules of battle.

If FROM asked to use the Berserk licence, they'd get it right away, the issue is FROM wants complete agency over what they're working on and if you're making a Berserk game, the owners may want certain requirements to be met and FROM would feel obligated to honour those requests; There are Berserk games out there which are ok, they're not great, but they're still ok. Truth is, what Miyazaki wants to do both he and his team are unsure if the Berserk IP owners would allow him to do, also copyright is kind of a bigger deal in Japan than it is here and also Executives and IP owners have complete agency over works over there too. Which means Miyazaki himself would have little say over how the Berserk game is presented if the owners decide to change things, so rather than ask, FROM does their own thing while still being like Berserk. Unfortunately since the creator of Berserk has now passed away, the IP is how in the hands of his best friend, it is in good hands, but everyone involved is unsure as to what the wishes of the original creator would of wanted in this case, which means for at least a while, there likely won't be anymore good Berserk video games, until everyone involved feels comfortable with them being made again. But again, FROM likely won't ever get a licence to make a Berserk game, but you never know. Corporations hold a lot of power over creatives in Japan, so it is always something that gets in their way and they simply accept it as the status quo. You literally need to be in charge of the situation to effect change there.

There are hundreds of blatant refrences to berserk in elden ring, ill say just the ones out the top of my head. Griffith reference to crystal tears in the eclipse when he was dreaming, those crystal tears look the same as crystal tears we put in our mixed physicks. The golden rule griffith was talking about at the start of berserk reminds me the Golden Order. The Godhand is probs the same as the two fingers and three fingers put together. And there are more more in depth references
