Good video and appreciate you taking the time. I purchased mine 3 weeks ago and live in Alaska. I only bought the wood tray and not the gas. In 32 degree temps after 2 1/2 hours, the stone was still was not hot enough. I ordered the gas attachment and it just arrived in time for Superbowl; go Niners; what a shame. Your instruction was very helpful. I did note the heat rust, you obviously use yours regularly. I will have a wire brush and high temp touch up paint on hand. Thank you.
The rust is from the high heat that the oven produces. Took about a year to develop. My oven is the only one that I've seen with this problem, but I've used it a lot since purchasing two years ago.
I have the gas attachment, can never get it above 600…even after leaving on high for 20+ minutes. Saw another video where the reviewer suggested heating for 35 to 45 minutes. Seems aggressive for a 2 minute pizza.
@mojo1848 Make sure you're taking the temp from the center of the stone. The front of the stone will read much cooler. If that's not the problem, then I would contact the manufacturer because it sounds like either the burner or the oven itself is defective. Sorry you're having that problem.
I do not have gas attachment. I will be using charcoal and wood. How do I know when the inside of the oven is hot enough for the pizza. There is no thermostat on the oven Thanks
Yes, I'd prefer the entire oven be made of stainless steel instead of just the inside. The outer powder coating lasted about a year before it burned away and started to rust.
