Hi guys! This is part 1 of my 3D printed Dark Knight Batman Cowl! I know this is very much late to the game but I've always wanted this Cowl and I there's nothing to stop me lol! The file is from user Killonious on Thingiverse (link below) and it had a full version and a version where it comes in separate pieces, luckily I have a CR-10 now and can do the whole thing. There was a lot of sanding and wood filler to try to get it as smooth as possible. Next time we'll finish sanding and paint! if you have any questions or if you've made this file yourself!

Hi would you be able to make a black Adam movie accurate dr fate helmet out of cardboard if not just a 3d printed one. Really amazing helmet there and great video

That would be cool, unfortunately cardboard is not my material, I'm not really sure how to work with it to make something like this. I haven't checked lately on Thingiverse to see if anyone has made a movie version of the helmet but if they did I'll probably make one at some point. I'm not confident enough in my modeling skills yet to attempt to make it myself. Thanks for watching!

Okay buddy. Here is my question. What is your approach to supports? I printed two cowls and chucked them both because the supports on the inside were impossible to remove.

So normally I usually use tree supports and set them to about 3% density so they can easily be removed. Having said that, for this Batman cowl, I actually went in and removed any inner supports on my slicer for this. It printed just fine without any supports inside. I just left the ones on the outside. The only part I was worried about was if the ears needed supports on the inside but turned out it didn’t. Most helmets if they have a roundish shape on the top, I will remove the inside supports with my slicer prior to printing. I’ve done Red Hood, Mandalorian, Captain America and a few others like this. Hope this helps!

So I remembered that I did have some supports inside to hold up the mouth opening but that was pretty much it. Just have tree supports with low density and they’ll pop right out!

@@BrightNightTech I got a Capullo cowl going now with 10% density. We will see. If I can get it to work I want to mold it and cast. Then I will print a muscle suit to mold and cast. I got 4 printers for cosplay and have been working mostly with EVA. Mainly cuz you can't always wear PLA. Batman though? Yeah I will mold and cast. I can make the money back on the down low. Lol!

Hkw do you get it to fit if your planning on wearing it?

Well I only make things to display and not wear but there are different places you can check to help with measurements on fitting like on www.thearmoredgarage.com or there’s different videos on how to help size things. Also you would have to go in and cut the back plate to make it wearable and put some sort of elastic or magnets to attach it with.

I don’t buy prints so I don’t know, I imagine there’s a ton of places online to get this. There are also creators that you can pay to make custom stuff like that.
