I’ve done pretty much the exact exactly same thing but with a mint, original HH635L, I repowered it with the same 6.2 merc 300 but with a bravo1. I have done a full rewire, fuel tank, anchor winch, trim tabs, sounder, new trailer etc, all over over the past 5yrs still a few things to do. Watching you deal with similar issues and coming to the same conclusions on stuff is great. Good work on the channel.
Hey yeah I love the boat, but am honestly very time poor so it's taken way too long. If these guys can sort the bulk of the heavy work, Il do the rest. Want to spend more time on the water than working on it from now on
Good to see that you are going to give it a go and get those mods done. Yeah that deck wash water intake tube through the transom looks dodgie. I'd be keeping to the one inlet tube for the deck wash and bait tanks by installing a 3 way stainless steel ball valve, it works a treat. Less penetrations in you transom below the water line the better. 1 week turn around is optimistic. I wound have thought 3-4 weeks, but 1 week is good if they can do it.. Hopefully you will get a discount for free advertisement for these guys 😂😅😂😅 Looking forward to your next update, good luck 👍
yeah man agreed! Deserve a discount hahaha. Agree to minimise holes and pick ups etc and I really didn't want a transom mount transducer but bad luck. Yeah I'm thinking 3-4 weeks myself but let's see. Excited though
@BaitBallin Guess the longer it takes the more coin you'll be able to save, lol I think Ryan's eyeballs had dollar signs rolling around..lol Ching Ching.. Good luck 👍
Like most boat builds think of a budget and then double it. I did not like seeing that tube running loosely through the transom hopefully it hasn’t caused any problems. Look forward to watching the progress.
I've also done the same. New 6.2 300 hp Mercruiser, new Transtyle trailer ally I beam, oil bath bearings etc (after having rebuilt the old trailer with full SS calipers, hangars, rotors etc) removed the old Muir gypsy anchor winch and installed Lone Star GX3, new fridge, trim tab rams, sounder and plotter, canopies, stainless bar work, seadek flooring.......I'm sure I've forgotten a heap and to top it off I think my transom may be wet. FFS does it ever stop?? Oh, it;s Whittley Sea Legend 7.3 - Now, the Mercruier will be five years old in July, in the last few months I've replaced the starboard exhaust manifold as it cracked, replaced raw water pump and this week I had to put a new starter motor in it. Will NEVER buy Mercruiser again. My boat is looked after better than most and I'm getting no love from Mercruiser. Enging has 250 hours on it.
