Hey everyone - thanks for flagging the high CPU temps in this one, something doesn’t look quite right here. This 90mm Johnsbo is not the highest end unit, but it wasn’t performing this poorly. We’re going to conduct a separate review of the cooler which I’ll link here once it’s live, and look into the issue in Rivatuner to see what was going on! :)
Use ram slot 2 and 4 he says. And mounting the dimms in slot 1 and 3 🤣 Is this a "do as i say, not as i do" kind of thing? CPU temp of 95-100c at 0-3% load. Thats not right. Even if the cooler is small. Also. DO NOT use a single PCIe cable with a pigtale to connect this GPU to the PSU. it pulls around 300W FFS.
Apologies - fixed the RAM before booting the PC, and there seems to be a reporting error with CPU temps as in our separate CPU stress testing we weren’t seeing this level nor any thermal throttling, so we’ll look into this. Thats my bad. Regarding the GPU power cable, we have seen no issue in this or any other build with this configuration.
@@GeekaWhat One do not have any issues untill they do. Remember, you are only pulling power from 6 of those 8 pins. If youre pulling more than 225W out of this connector, you are outside the specs if you want any kind of safetymargin. So anything above 225W is a danger. This is the reason those 4090 connectors have failed.
Built a similar 7600x/7900 GRE combo with my son for $1253 US (Pre-Tax) from Newegg two months ago. CPU: 7600X GPU: Sapphire Pulse 7900 GRE Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming B650-E WIFI RAM: 32 GB Team T-force DDR5 6400 SSD: Team Group G50 1TB Cooler: Freezer 36 A-RGB Case: Montech Sky Two PS: Thermaltake GF1 ATX 850W I think we built a solid Gaming PC.
Most likely he disassembles them and uses the parts for other builds. Think about it. Whenever he opens boxes there aren’t any shrink wraps you see being pulled off of the boxes. But hey that’s just a theory
@@november2097most bigger content creators do sell them. They have a big enough following that they can basically always sell them, make a little cash, and most importantly, it’s good for their brand. Keeps followers more engaged on platforms like Discord. But yes, worst case scenario, he can just reuse the parts if nobody buys it.
Except with amd u have to run cmd script for it to perform and takes 5 minutes to boot up and has tremendous dips in fps and doesn't overclock well at all. Oh and they have the instability issues like intel and fail far more. Building a pc right now is not smart at all till manufacturers get their shit more together
That is a bit of a bottleneck for the 7900 GRE. Even though the budget is good, a 7700x or 7800x3d would be better because there would be less or no bottleneck.
It's only a small bottleneck at 1080p, which doesn't matter because at 1080p the fps is in the high 100s for most games. This build is aimed at 1440p and some 4k which is more gpu bound and not a bottleneck.
@@samirravat Oh oops I forgot that it's 1440p only because my monitor is 1080p. There is still sort of a bottleneck at 1440p, I'm guessing 20% but yes if it is playable then no need to worry
He said that there appeared to be an error on the cpu temp reading, and that he did a seperate test and he wasn’t seeing any signs of thermal throttling, he also said he’d look further into it though but I mean, I don’t think he followed up past that
Ryzen 9000 series are workstation/productivity chips. Even with the windows bug nerfing performance, they just aren't meant for gaming and that's a marketing flaw from AMD.
the 7800x3d is a little overkill for the 7900 gre. i would pick something closer to the 7700x. if you’re set on the 7800x3d, a 7900 xt or something similar/better would be a better fit
@@dktko3993 The 7700x doesn't make sense due to its price, nothing is on sale right now so I'll be waiting for some sales anyhow, but right now its the 7600x at $289 and the 7700x at $429 and the 7800x3d at $529. Canadian prices, Not really set on anything but if the 7800x3d was going to be noticeably better then i'd get one of those but if the 7600x is more then enough then maybe thats the way to go.
@@SA99144 of course the 7800x3d will be better, its a top of the line cpu. if you can afford it, go for it, its the best gaming cpu out there. but if you want something for less money thatll still perform great with the 7900 gre, the 7600x or 7700 non-x will do great. do whatever you want, its called a personal computer for a reason. (my build has a 7900 gre and 7700x, which is why i suggested it).
This is similar to my 7600/7900 GRE PC. It is difficult to beat this combination of value and performance. The 7800 XT is a little cheaper for just a little less performance, so if 1440 instead of 4K it makes for a good option. The 7900 GRE isn't the best 4K card out there, but for high 1440 and entry/mid 4K (prepare to decrease quality settings for some newer games) it is a solid option.
Do you think a black gpu would work in a all white build? White 12 gb gpus are expensive but there’s some good 12 gb black ones out there but I don’t know if it would look good in a all white build
You can paint the case it’s super easy bro… there is many tutorials and it won’t damage your gpu at all, just remove a couple screws remove the case, paint it and then let it dry…
Yea I felt the same way but I put all white everything except for a black motherboard and black GPU and it actually looks good and don't stand out like you'd think
