In this video I discover a cheap mod for the SCX24 C10 1/24 crawler that really adds a lot to the performance of this truck. This is a great mod for budget minded people.
I have the jeep was looking for some taller tires thanks but already ordered Baja claws but plan to keep The scx24 I use to have a traxxas so much less maintenance to do 👍
I find if you take the shocks apart you can stretch the springs twice the length and out them back together that will raise it up some and less bouncy.
How and where do you find these tires? I know it’s been a long time since you posted this video but I just ran across it after searching for the best cheap mods for my three scx24’s. Would love to upgrade the tires and you can’t beat $20 for a set of 4 tires with bead lock wheels. Would love to buy 3 sets but can’t find them anywhere. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Ive told myself 100 times no more rc! Focus on the car your driving and fixing up. But man your making it hard ive had a couple of different 1/24 but was never satisfied these axials are sweet and your mods are genius. Might have to get one .
You just can't go wrong and the look of it is way better. It looks like a truck you would buy and then put in the a lift kit. Nice work brother. The one thing I was wondering while you were doing it was how about that drive train. I know that when I am doing this type of work on the scx10's I got to be careful because the darn drive shafts start binding against the transmission. She sure does look good tho. Thanks for sharing and Thumbs up
Like the new height of the truck with the shock switch, might just get those for mine when it comes. My second Deadbolt arrived, now need to work on that Wraith. Didn't want to start it and loose my Deadbolt, so now I'll have the Deadbolt, Wraith, and C10. Might just get them shocks for the Wraith for the jacked up look!
Have to concur Brother, idk why but dark greys just don't work with chrommies imo. However, they do look killer sexy on the green rig! FYI ya'll just know I'm saving this to my Tech & Info playlist, hope when I do that it's cool with you? It's all solid info I think a lot of cats will be interested in. Mind you, if they ain't subbed to your channel they're either new or crazy anyhow haha
Flip the shocks upside down and mount to the frame of the car not the shock mount but the screws that hold the shock mount u will get at least 3 inches of clearance and tons of flexibility Amazon scx24 c10 upgrades has everything u will need
I know you said that the shocks for the CR 20for only like five bucks. Do you happen to have a link to where I can pick those up? I see them around for 30 on eBay but was hoping for something cheaper. It’s greatly appreciated.
Hey, I have a question about the roll bar on the mint green Chevy C10. I would like to buy this car new, but every C10 I find doesn't have the chrome rollbar like yours came with? Do you know if Axial changed this? Did the C10 used to come with the chrome roll bar? Now only the grey one comes with a black roll bar just like your other C10.
can you leave links to these? really like that look and all. I got the Jeep CRC JLU and plan to modify a good bit. Those tires/wheels look great and the suspension seems good for lifting the vehicle.
@@BullgearRCvideos ok cool. I just ordered mine this past Saturday and it’s coming tomorrow. Wanna have stuff ready for upgrades so I can get it to the best of its ability that I can as soon as I can. Also, do you suggest any other cheap shock upgrades for the SCX24 that I don’t have to take apart the ones it has stock or are you unaware of any other good ones? Thanks either way!
@@BullgearRCvideos I would also need maybe a different shock upgrade that I don’t need to take apart the stick ones but are also high enough to put these tires in, if you know of any, that’d be great. Thanks again!
Really this is the best cheap shock upgrade I have found. But the only reason I lifted this truck was so the tires wouldn't rub the C10 body. It comes with smaller tires than the deadbolt or Jeep. You shouldn't have to lift the jeep to run these tires
@@BullgearRCvideos I’ll have to find out once I get the tires. I saw a video of a guy that used the Carisma MSA-1E shocks without having to glue the stock shocks to them so if they don’t fit I’ll have to give those a try
BullgearRC videos DAAAAAAAAAANG 😂 I had ordered 2 on a whim with some other parts awhile back. I got a CR18 and the stock 88t motor died in the first hour of play, so one went on the CR18. 2 days later I burnt up the stock 88T on the SCX24. I ended up getting the Hot Racing Aluminum Transmission and Gear box parts as an excuse (heatsink) and mounted up that second 100t I already had on hand. Guess I got ‘lucky’ 😂
Good morning, great video . I just bought 3 motors I believe from you . One the other day and 2 more this morning. Because a couple of my grandkids wanted these little scx24 crawlers. So I bought two more of them this morning. I really like the wheel mod with solder . Very smart, no substitute for brains lol . I just subscribed to your channel and plan on learning more from you sir . Thank you
Thanks brother! Sure the kiddos will love em. I don't sell motors, so they couldn't have been from me. But I do appreciate the thought. Thanks for subscribing and hope you enjoy my content👍
@@BullgearRCvideos I know why now I thought that , because the symbols look the same. They were from OX with what looked like a bull's head lol .... sorry ... the upgrade motor is supposed to have the can that fits without drilling new holes. Yes the grandkids are exited, I just told them I bought them a hour ago . How well did those tires work . You did not show the c10 in action lol ... I was looking forward to it ...
I had the deadbolt and sold it but it was so much fun, I also had 2 scx10ii a gen8 and a trx4 sport. When I got the scx24 I thought it would be a little mess around rig for inside but I ended up loving it and driving it way more than my 10th scales, I took that little rig through many 10th scale courses lol.
Yeah, I've seen them. Funny thing about that is Hobby Plus posted my video about adding weight to the CR-24 wheels and climbing a 57° incline on their Facebook page about a month before they came out with those brass wheel weights. Lol, maybe I gave them an idea🤣👍
Thanks Gary! I really like how it came out. I was just trying to get some better tires on it without hacking up that pretty body, and it just all worked out great
It's a very good upgrade and the price is really good, I would have to look at this for my ftx Outback. In any case the ground clearance is better, and I am impatient to see this first test with the new tires and shock absorbers that you have to adapt well with those of origin of the scx24.
Great video! I put my cr-24 wheels/tires on my scx24 and I'm loving it! More scaled look but I did sacrifice a small bit of ride height which I'm ok with. The rgt stock tires are really good too.
Nice, so how much are those other shocks can you buy them at a hobby shop as a separate item or do you need to have the other truck too take them off and put them on
