Bought this for deployment, I really didn't intend to game on, just wanted a nice laptop for mil websites and video editing. But the temptation was real. Ended up downloading like 5 games. BF1, Iron harvest, Star wars, and some fighting games. Not really a gamer, but kills the time. For the average guy like me, this laptop is freaking solid. I love it!
@@nevernothigh9 TBH, im not to sure. I just plug and play. I've never changed anything on my laptop settings. So I guess in runs on whatever preset the manufacturer set. To me the graphics seem pretty good, no issues so far. I'm not really well versed in tech, hope that helps.
I am thinking the same laptop, for average general use, surfing, writing etc, watching youtube is most cpu intense stuff i do, lol, this laptop should be good enoug, the keyboard i tried at the shop, feels super nice.
Its super weird to hear him say that 60fps is just "ok" because i learned how to play most games at like 12 fps lmao definitely getting this laptop though it seems like a really good first computer!

I bought one of these on bestbuy's black friday discount for U$ 450, but the transport messed up the delivery, so with the insurance I bought the Dell G15 for U$ 700 during Labor's day. Maybe the worst comes for the best I guess, but it's good to see that the first purchase was spot on.
I bought a similar laptop but it had an i7-9750h and 16GB or RAM The bad part is, the original price was around 5,000 DHS (USD 1350), and we got it for 3,000 DHS (USD 815)
really recommend this laptop, got it with core i5 9th gen , 1650GTX, 16gb ram, 1TB storage . and works like a charm! over 100fps on 90% of games i play on high settings
I bought an earlier version of this laptop a couple of years ago on sale for $500. It's got an i5-8300H paired with a 1050ti. The very first thing I did was try to run SotTR. The machine overheated and did a hard shutdown. I think I may have broken something in the process. Ever since that incident, the screen will randomly turn black. The only way to bring it back is to kick the computer into sleep mode. It has slowly getting worse. Now it's to the point that I can't run it for more that half an hour before it will do it. Oddly, it has no issues running on an external monitor, which now is the only way I can run it reliably. This has effectively turned my so-so "gaming" laptop into a not-that-great desktop machine.
It is a known issue. They even made a video on how to solve it, my hp did It for a while and the video solved it for me. It was a BIOS problem and a Windows update revision which killed the screen in my case. Try watching it if you haven't ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sj6kYmT7GLs.html
Hey Toasty Bro's! My laptop isnt using my GTX 1650 and is stuck using the IGPU. I've done everything and at 5:36 of the video you said to 'reinstall windows', im really desperate to know how to do that. So please, and i mean it, please, can you make a video or reply to my comment how to do it. Thank you.
I just bought the 2021 version of this laptop with 16GB RAM 256GB SSD 1 TB HDD AMD 6 core Ryzen 5 4600H Nvidia GeForce I was wondering if this was a good choice I've never bought a laptop like this so I have no idea if this was a smart buy or not. I already paid for it so its too late to get a new one but I was hoping you guys can make a video about it so i can see how to reinstall anything that needs to be done thank you.
@@Chapizon I doubt he would want to go for second hand graphic cards for his first steps into gaming and there is no way to get one without It nowadays. A laptop is a good option, if you can afford a Lenovo legion 5 it is a huge step Up from this one, also, avoid Intel at all costs.
@@MarkHallG laptops lose 30 percent of gaming power in games not just that but maintainability on a laptop is more difficult so nah i regret getting a gaming laptop but good thing im getting a desktop next week also some lose even more fps in games than desktop lol
I was able to buy a gaming laptop with a 1650 ti, and i5 10th Gen, 8 GB of RAM and with a 144hz display. the only downside is the battery isnt download. All for about the price
This laptop being 450 dollars on Black Friday probably created a lot of pc gamers that day including me because I’m probably not getting a ps5 soon so I play on this
Great video! I would like to see a video review on the acer nitro 5 laptop with an i5 with a nvidia 1650! Thanks, you guys do awesome & pretty interesting vids! (Btw for opening boxes, Gerber knife! They make strong reliable knives!)
I bought this straight from a Micro Center. For the price it's not bad. The main issue is the low RAM. I had to pay to put more on there. Other than that, it's worth the price for single play games. The additional RAM makes multiplayer function so much better.
How are your frames with more RAM? I play stuff like Fortnite and Destiny, but now that they’ve started getting frame drops I don’t really use my pc as much.
I have this laptop, updated RAM and added a 1TB SATA SSD. One thing I think everyone should know it how to remove HP touchpoint analytics. Its basically HP's analytic software (spyware) that you probably do not want running. HP's support page has a way to remove it from installed apps, however it is now located in system32 hidden in with the drivers. What I found was to stop the service, disable it, then open file location from task manager, take ownership of the file from system32 and delete the .exe. After doing that there is a config file that tells it to pull from windows updates so it reinstalls on windows update, I just deleted that config file and it has yet to come back. Hope this helps, for $624 (when I bought it) its a good laptop. I had the 500GB NVME model, but its the same laptop except that one difference.
Hey guys, rocking an Asus TUF F15 with a GTX 1650ti....its rather close to 60fps on cyberpunk on preset lows with large density for peds. dang 1650s are really neat when you dont care about lenseflares lol. Neat review by the way.
The hp envy's actually aren't bad either. We have an amd 2700 vega10 combo and it's not too hateful after getting a better ssd and some configs, it's close to console in some games and with higher frame rates on some titles obviously graphics aren't as good in some cases. Anyway thank you guys for cranking out all this content for us. You guys are super informative with funny personalities, makes it super easy to watch the video full length. you guys rock, n yeah... thanks 👍
Can you make a video of the best 16 gig ram kits for this laptop and how to install them. I'm thinking of getting the 2021 version of this laptop but idk how to install the ram I'm still a noob
Do your research on the exact model you are thinking about, there are several versions of this laptop. I got mine back in November 2020 and my version had an 8 gig stick already in it so I only had to spend $40 on a single 8 gig stick. There will probably be at least two versions anywhere you go, one with an intel cpu in it and one with the amd cpu in it. So yea just do your research on exactly what it is you are getting with the specific model that you are looking at potentially buying.
can someone tell me if this has more than 60 fps? Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop, 9th Gen Intel Core i5-9300H, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, 15.6" Full HD IPS Display, 8GB DDR4, 256GB NVMe SSD, Wi-Fi 6, Backlit Keyboard, Alexa Built-in, AN515-54-5812 and its only $650 other say its bad and others say its good
It depends on what games you're playing and the settings. If everything is on high or max then no it wont be more than 60fps, but you can easily get more than 60 frames on it if you adjust the settings and turn things like shadows and other intensive settings to lower values while playing
I got this lappy but the intel version. It's a great cheap gaming laptop. Didn't have the GPU issues though. Only real downside is the storage is really too low for it being a gaming laptop.
Now, I think it’s Acer Nitro 5, but if you wanna wait for a better deal, wait for this Hp Pavillion to go on sale on Black Friday. Usually goes to about $450, but if you want a gaming laptop right now, pick up the Acer Nitro 5.
@@matthewryan9238 I’m looking at the links as it’s showing 800-900 dollar versions of the laptop. Did you buy it from your local Walmart or some other store?
so first off- watching @10:42 from a hp pavillion is waaayyy more cringe than that shot. Also! I have been able to upgrade mine to 32 gb RAM, and threw in 1TB internal storage as well. I play on bluetooth controller which frees up one of those minimalistic I/O plugs. I have most all game settings maxed, and can even play FPS games through the XBOX Game Pass cloud streaming services!!
I have got the HP pavilion 15 last year’s Christmas on Black Friday in Walmart’s newspapers. And once I got the HP laptop checked everything out. It was a used laptop not a new laptop. I have no idea they can be selling new laptops and it’s totally the opposite of new. New laptops cost more so if laptops cost below 700$ there’s a chance it was a used laptop
I bought this laptop for 450 last year for Black Friday and it’s amazing for that price. Upgraded up to a 1 Tb nvme and added another 1Tb SSD 2.5 as well as an extra 8 gigs of ram. Only downside is the screen isn’t that good. I have it set up to a 34-inch curved monitor so it doesn’t bother me, but it might not be to everyone’s liking.
Even though it's 2022 am still watching this video, because of this video I got a i5-10300h with 1650 on sale, its awesome I played on ps4 so a big change thank for what ya'll do.
would this laptop be able to play games such as rocket league, plants vs zombies garden warfare, and Minecraft well? im working on saving up for a computer and I just wanted to ask
I have this laptop and I paid $490 after tax. If you dont install an extra 8gb stick of ram to have 16gb and an extra ssd hard drive you wont have a very good experience. The gtx 1650 performs fine at medium/low settings on triple A games but some tittles just dont play well. Would I recommend this laptop? yes but not over $500. For around $800 you can get the gateway creator series laptop with a i5 10300h and RTX 2060 which will perform much better.
Mine does not play like that. At all lmao mine barley gets 13fps for both only game it plays and on lowest settings is kingdom hearts idk what’s wrong with it.
Now, your review was only short term. I used to have a very similar laptop. It was an hp pavilion with a 1050ti and an 8th gen i5. I only had it for a year, before I had to get rid of it. It had WAAAY too many issues. It overheated, under performed, and had a ton of pre-installed hp programs that heavily altered the speed of the overall device (which was unable to be uninstalled). Plus the hinge wore down over the course of the year. Buyer beware
@UCz-PE2xCjjcTDMNFXsbXiNA 3060 for a desktop build or laptop build? If the mobile 3060 is around the price of a 2060 then I might get the 3060 if the Helios 300 stays at the regular price of 1.2k. But if I see the 2060 Helios drop to 1k then I'll get that because I could use the extra 200 for a 2TB nvme SSD.
There’s a better laptop with a gtx 1660 for 700$ it’s the acer nitro 5 just go to there site and press on models (btw when you press buy it takes you to Amazon and the price should be 700$ there)
Me: wishing I could get this looking at $1750 hmm ehh I need more for this other person: oh wow $1750 I could get the go omen 15 2928 gaming laptop with this :update I just bought the hp omen laptop and if you guys Wanna know the specs I will say it it comes with 256gb ssd 1660ti 8gb ddr4 laptop ram and if you want you could pay 40$ more for the 12gb
I built my pc this year sadly when prices were really high. I built it for about $600 and now it's worth $700. I'm thinking of selling it and buying a gaming laptop that performs better
i have overheating problem in this laptop :( cs go: in low resaliton, fps like 300 but the cpu temp 90~100 rainbow 6: in low resaliton fps like 120 but the cpu temp 100~115 how i can fix this? i replaced the thermal paste a few days ago but the temp still the same :(((
I'm gonna get this one when I'll get the money I'm gonna edit this comment ever time I save the money and then edit when I have it I'm starting of at this day at 100
@@matthewryan9238 i have the same laptop but i suggest not overclocking. Its better to let it live also i dontn think that the cooling would sustain such high temps
