Bit of a rough run down, hopefully I have explained my points properly for you. I'm a novice at this, so if my points aren't clear please ask and I'll get back to you. If you want I can make a more specific video detailing the ratchet you want to know more about. Thanks for the support.

Good Review, that Stahlwille ratchet will handle min. twise more Torque than that Bahco one (and i think it is very important norm to grade the tool). Also that when i see that Bacho i imagine some KS tools ratchets, which look identical to it, who know maybe they are made in same factory somewhere in China...

hello my max torque i work at is 480 n-m but it is only on transformer lugs, i have never had slipping or damage while using the bahco, dont know the torque rating for that tool, but i assume the smaller teeth are less durable and i am sure the others given the same amount of abuse will indeed out live the bahco, the bahco is made in Taiwan.

@@davidkavanagh4966 Overally Bahco is very good brand between mid end tools, some of their stuff are made in Argentina too. Also want to say that i love Elora pretty much, some of their ratchets are awesome, and of course i think that west german made elora sockets finish is one of the best out there. Great videos David. Keep on, there are no much videos about iconic german brands on youtube. I am going now to review also some of the sets i have got from Germany some days ago.

Facom if they can't take a joke. I pick up a lot of old sockets sets here in Germany, including some Smalcalda 1/2" ones which are surprisingly OK for DDR (East German) products. I don't know why I keep buying them, I had a friend once who had a nervous breakdown and keep buying people cutlery sets. Elora is often overlooked, but it's still going and still producing. Their 205 Range spanners are fantastic.

Why on Earth would you like tooth resistance? If there's too much resistance, a loose nut will go backwards instead of ratcheting.

Nice review man. Listening a person that loves what he's doing and knowing his thing. I bought a wurth zebra 1/2+1/4 dust protection ratchet-socket set. Have you got any experience with them? I'm thinking of taking it back. Really expensive. Not made in Germany and less tools inside the set. Also i found that wurth doesn't make the tools. Its like buying something else. Not like hazet. Or Stahl.. What your opinion? Kind regards.

I have a older version of the same Sthalwille rachet. It is 36 tooth. Something is wrong with your rachet. I have a lot of use on mine and there is no rattle ,it's tight and the 36 tooth is very smooth and easy to turn. Your rachet is very loud and looks like it's binding.

Thx for this interesting Review I love my hazet rachet and i Do love the elora rachet! But my questions is my hazet rachet (the same you have) the "switcher" is moving during my work using my facom or promat rachet This never happens, is this a quality issue? My english is not the best so i hope you Know what i mean
@davidkavanagh4966
@davidkavanagh4966 4 года назад
Do you mean it changes direction while in use? Does the ratchet lock up?
@danielantony1112
@danielantony1112 4 года назад
No i mean it is a Vibration When I use the rachet it moving little bit into both directions "the switcher" But it works very good Thx for the fast answer But anyway thx
@davidkavanagh4966
@davidkavanagh4966 4 года назад
@@danielantony1112 no it is perfectly normal for the switch to move during use. Switcher is on a little toothed gear that moves left to right. This pushes against the main gear and that's how it can change direction. Thanks

Very disapoint my Hazet 916S have the same plastic direction lever.I own same stahlwille and under high torque the ratchet mechanism grips and for unlocking i must hit him with some hammer plastic or else.I send back in Germany the defectiv ratchet and i receive the new one but diferent model

I also have a Stahlwille 512 a bit older with black handle but it feels horrible compared to my Hazet even though the Hazet noticeably more worn. The teeth feels (and are) rough and the selector switch is to tight Definately how they are made which is a bit strange because Stahlwille are known to made some of the best quality tools.

Yes I have the 1/4 set and it is perfect no issues at all, and I have many spanners from Stahlwille and they are slowly becoming my favorite, so I was surprised when the quality of the 1/2 was so bad. Especially since socket sets are their bread and butter.

Awesome review. I like the Bahco of them all, can't beat the slim size. On my cheap Stanley ratchet, the thing that bothers me the most is that it has a protruding direction switch that kinda gets hit while working and reverses the ratchet. Have you had this happen? I see that the Bahco has the slimest direction switch of them all so another plus there.

If you get a chance, please try the KTC Nepros 1/2" 90 tooth or the Ko-Ken Zeal 72 tooth 1/2"; both excellent and I think comparable to the Hazet or Stahlwille. The Bahco is Taiwan-made afaik. Excellent for the price.

The Hazet switch is NOT made of PLASTIC. It does obviously have a plastic coating on it but the switch itself is metal. If that was just plastic it would have broken in ten years. They put plastic on it so they wouldn't have metal against metal sliding on the ratchet which might eventually take the chrome off after about 50 years which is the usual time each ratchet is used. What actually happens is the plastic wears down on the bottom of the switch and eventually you do get metal to metal sliding on the bottom of the switch where he rubs against he body of the ratchet. Once that happens, you can keep using it as if it was just a metal switch or you can put a new switch for a few dollars. But you have the option of replacing it when the plastic coating wears off the bottom, thereby keeping the chrome pristine forever. The plastic coating helps the switch move more smoothly than it could if it was metal. It's a type of permanent lubricant. Another reason it has a plastic coating is because originally the coating was coloured beautiful Hazet blue. They accomplished two things this way, the blue coloured switch (which wouldn't have worked with paint because it would have rubbed off) and the protection for the tool. Before this, they had a fully metal switch which looked like a dogs paw. That is my favourite one. It has ridges on top like the top of a dogs hand. Makes it easy to switch.
