I wish we could convince more young people that this journey is actually so much more realistic than they think. Most young people reject the idea because of limiting beliefs that have been conditioned into them by parents and teachers
Hey, As someone who used to do video editing. I noticed people who are just starting find it hard to get clients due to not having a lot of past work. So I just wanted to share the trick I used when starting out. When dming said client, offer to do a video for completely free. This allows them to not take any risk when hiring you. It also shows them how you edit and the style you edit in. I used this trick a lot starting out and I will say it helped me a lot.
@@ezaiya3194 kinda it's just so they don't have any risk when deciding if they wanna hire you since most of the time they give you an old video to edit. but yea i guess its just a free trial if you wanna look at it like that.
My field of work wasn't video editing, but I can't agree with this enough. When I started my gig I offered my services for free to dozens of projects, and that gave me the credibility to call myself the best in my field, after which I started my Fiverr gig with the best prices in the field, then after getting five-star review after five-star review, I raised my prices so that my most popular bundles doubled my revenue. Seriously, don't be afraid to reach out to projects and offer your services for free.
Been editing videos for years for TikTok, instagram, and RU-vid. Definitely a steep learning curve if you’re using something like Adobe Premiere Pro, but the basics aren’t hard. The hard part is doing all the crazy animations and text overlays people are using these days
@@rorikho3634 it's been for the sales/marketing for an ecommerce business I'm helping run, so it's just for one business at the moment. It was working really well up until about last year when engagement took a huge poop on most accounts. Used to get easily 10k-100k views and up to 20k site viewers.
@@mattsaunders5033 yeah definitely, there are two problems with that though. You need to have your stuff scheduled out ahead of time so you're able to send over content and wait for the turn around time. Also, it's for an ecommerce brand and the margins on a business like that aren't great so it's hard to justify paying enough for a good editor.

Hey! I am a video editor, but to be honest, it really is harder than that to find people that are ready to let you do the work for them, especially if they dont know you, or you're in another country. I guess when your name is made, it's easier, but when you're starting, it's really hard...
@@xxselenadiamondxx i think starting out, if you really wanna build a name you gotta provide free services to people so they get a taste of what your material is like since you dont have a track record. once you keep doing this and build a solid resume of providing free services, you can start charging for your stuff. easier said than done ofc.

I feel like the best business model is marketing. Learning how to make websites, and SEO has been the best thing to happen to me. There are so many directions you can go with it from lead gen, making sites for others and managing them, affiliate marking ect.
But how do you find clients that can be interested in the services you provide...there are plenty of already established agencies out there......how can i find my first customer??
Thank goodness you brought this up. I’ll keep telling young people to start early and fail early- this is the only way they can succeed in life. I’ll mention few side hustles one can venture in and the ones I prefer - drop shipping, tech, crypto/forex investments, freelancing, blogging and so much more. But, I prefer crypto/forex investments and this isn’t because of its trend but how quick one can generate wealth from it with the right process and guidance. I encourage investors & young people to get into this. Despite its risk, it can be extremely profitable and people are making positive results out there!

These videos make me think about a lot of things that I haven't considered yet, superb! I almost fell out completely in my mid 40’s but thankfully now I’m close to retiring in a satisfactory manner and have majority of my financial goals ticked.

The most interesting for me would be starting a marketing agency, but I’m in the process of starting a stainless steel streetwear brand and documenting my business journey on RU-vid at 14. Also I love video editing, can’t get enough of it.

I think making a youtube channel would be the most interesting for me, because it can be really fun and its a great way to create a presence your the internet. It also ties into video editing. That way you have two sidehustles at once!

The challenge with this is not the ideas, or the work. It’s finding the business/sales. That is where the real barrier is. Yes you can make that sound easy but it’s really not.
I hate those kind of videos where people act like they are teaching you somthin. But in fact all what people need is just someone to lead them. Someone who says, "Here is the link of the platform you should try, you should register this way, then do this and do that". We don't need someone who just says try this or try that (which everyone knows about them), without giving somthing, no act, no platform, just words and not a single startup guide. Even Iman. The only platform he showed us was his webside. Nothing more. Everyone does this. And people watch these videos with high expectations, and in the end they feel empty and don't know where to start. Stop acting like you are helping someone. You just are promoting yourself Iman...
