I think ricochet would be a better second spot because it can be good when played straightforwardly and even has the capability of a high skill cap, especially with it's status effect augments being activated by ricocheting bullets, allows for a skill based playstyle

Smoky also doesn't have to worry about splash damage, which is good for light hulls and melee combat. Its brief reload time means it's not vulnerable to potshotting either. Smoky is surprisingly powerful, persistent, and accurate. Thunder & Railgun are also amazing, but they're no Smoky.

Was just going to write this.... ya I agree ok at short range has deadly damage, but the reload is long after the clip is empty in that time dead... especially if enemy has hammer protection. #1 Turret is tough to answer... depends on match mode type. It also comes down to your play style and what you love using.... I like tesla but they nerfed it recently...the damage is lower.... so I invested into twins and he is right the pulsar is sort of good... the reason twins pulsar alot is because it fires fast.... tesla and twins pulsar are sort of good.... but smoky pulsar is kind of good to for ranged pulsaring.

@@DeamonTanki Ya, when I started playing tanki I used viking and smoky combo..worked somewhat good... but then got into other turrets and hulls. Hammer is sort of like... but like tesla, freeze, smoky more.... hammer and gauss sort of ok... just hate the sluggish reload....aggrevates me when I battle. rail is kind of ok....hate that warm up time....Scout rail is sort of fun. Started to get into thunder this year and sure has improved with these new augs.
