I think this is definitely one of the best interviews with ABBA. It was back in 1981 and the iconic Swedish pop group discuss their music, their journey to international stardom, and share personal and funny anecdotes with the talk show host Dick Cavett.
What makes it so good is that it is a proper sit-down interview and provides a unique glimpse into the personalities behind ABBA, offering fans a chance to witness the charm that made them a global sensation.
They discuss lots of things including Benny's double chin, the fact that none of them can 'write' music, the time that Agnetha's knickers fell down, and much more. Plus they even sing the song 'don't fence me in' live, in both swedish and english. Good stuff.

I think what's makes them so appealing is that they wrote the music and sang for themselves. They wanted to share that music and make others happy too. Their music always brings a smile to my face and takes me to another time and place which was free and easy. So many good memories.

I think what ABBA has which makes them so appealing is Agnetha and Frida who are both beautiful women and wonderful singers.

Dick Cavett seems to not really take them seriously…his questions are silly and embarrassing. Subtly condescending here and there…? Maybe it’s me? I tend to get defensive of ABBA and how impactful they were/are in music and culture.
