Bug Hunter series are very interesting and amusing game. But unluckily, They was only released in Acorn Archimedes. I think, If Bug Hunter series were released in IBM-DOS and Macintosh, Amiga, The game would be very famous and known for a good game.

I have to disagree. Where is Elite? Gods? Lemmings? You should rename this to: Best Archimedes side-on 2D platform games that look like mid-80’s 16-bit games

I loved my A3000. Of everything, Stunt Racer was the one that got me the most. Obviously it looks dated graphically now but the feeling of speed in it was fabulous. Nevryon was the first game I bought. Such a huge jump going from an Acorn Electron to that!

@@ametzvill6063 Arculator 2 runs pretty much all retro Archimedes games. Haven't found anything that does not work

Stunt Race 2000 and Chocks Away were just released on the Archimedes, a few listed tin your video were not just exclusive for the Archimedies Repton 3 as well as Mad Professor.

Yeah, I thought those were notable omissions as well. I spent many many hours playing Chocks Away, and surely Zarch should have been included as well? Interesting list but not what I'd suggest was a 'Top 10' of Archimedes games at all.

Cool, first RISC home computer, a pioneer and fist ARM home computer:-) This makes the Archimedes a pioneer, a 'shoulder' where our iPhones and iPads are sitting on. And soon, desktop Apple computer will sit on:-) It looks almost on par with the Commodore Amiga graphics (Amiga's is slightly better) and the Amiga and Archimedes are slightly less graphically better than the SEGA Genesis and SNES. This list brought back some memories! The fact that this, not the BBC, was my first experience of Repton 4, as an expansion pack to Repton 3, which was one of the few games I had on *both* BBC and Arc, and just how good Professor Mariarti was! When you consider the difference between the crude (but beautiful) BBC graphics and the smoothness of the Arc, it makes games like Mariarti even more believable. Would love to see some of the games from the 80s and 90s being made for modern systems. The best thing about the Arc version of Repton 3 is that they had fixed a couple of the glitches, for example the "evergoing rounders", as I used to call them, on PREHIST A.

Criminal not to include exclusives Chocks Away or Drop Ship. The Archimedes has some great games though!

Mad Professor Mariarti wasn't an Acorn exclusive though, it came out on Amiga and Atari ST as well.

Indeed it did. For some reason it was far far more popular on the Acorn than the other platforms. I guess on the Amiga it was just another platformer. But they were all written at the same time by yours truly! Thanks for including it! :-)

@@shaunhw I felt it was a good game for the Acorn, but compared to all those Amiga platormer's, you were spoilt for choice, the same with Twinworld as well.

I don't mean to dump on this list but it seems really bad. The problem I guess is that there are many good games I suspect you haven't played. For instance have you played TwinWorld?

I know Twin World. But, mainly, I listed games which were released only for Acorn Archimedes computer.
