I think the issue is a cascade of problems from design changes from 12th Gen to manufacturing and of course end use with the hook instead of a contact frame and voltage pushed to 11. Basically it is going to be hard to find a single source cause their are too many problems. Glad I got a 13600k over 13900k but wish AM5 boards were cheaper when I built in Dec 2022.
I intentionally came to look what's happening on this channel and what does he have to say about the new Intel failure issue. But guess what, its nothing here😂
@@techluvin7691 Maybe there isn't one at the moment. Look at AMD's latest chipsets (X870 and X870E), they all have PCIe Gen5. Same with Intel. Surely they didn't make it without reason, right? To be clear, why buy a mobo with PCIe Gen4 if you can get a mobo with PCIe Gen5 cheaper? 🤔
@@dutciku Well, if I had a choice between a higher end board with gen 4 pcie and a lesser board with gen 5 🤔 …………… I would choose the higher end gen 4. Similar to gen 4 vs gen 5 Nvme drives. Gen 5 produces so much heat that they just throttle within a minute while gen 4 drives operate at their maximum speed. There is yet to be a cooler that solves the gen 5 Nvme heat issue.
I did try this motherboard in my build from last month and well it booted but after the first shutdown it never turned back on. Ended up going with a cheaper mobo (the asus b50 board you showed) until the newer boards come out. There is a all white back facing unit coming in the next couple of months that I am waiting on.
Important FYI: I'm just building with this MOBO, and found this Note in the manual. "The PCIEX16 slot can only support a graphics card or an NVMe SSD. If only one graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot" Meaning, your GPU shares the PCIex port with the second NVMe SSD (M.2B). In my case, I wanted two M.2 SSD cards, So I used M.2A and M.2C. Correct me if I'm wrong
Would Ryzen 9000 be a serious consideration to replace intel for video editing, especially with the issues intel has been having? I am eagerly awaiting benchmarks!
Yes. Really you're not going to see a lot of difference in performance between the high end cpu's between AMD and Intel for video editing. A Ryzen 99xx will scream. The real difference for video editing is your GPU (if your editor supports it) and the speed of your storage.
A bit dissapointed the only thing said about the X670E-A ASUS Strix board was the color whereas it literally has the latest chipset and from what i seen frankly, ton of USB slots compared to most. Best purchse I done when building my new pc this year.
If you have one of those 7800-8000 MT/s kits it will not work or the system will very be unstable. Period. No maybe. Get X670E Gene for that. You may be able to run 7600 EXPO but the odds are very low. Just like on any other 4-dimm motherboard. Specs are BS.
I traded my i9 13900k for this motherboard and a Ryzen 7 7800x3d at microcenter, but what I do miss from my z790 is the optical input. I have to use the hdmi port on my gpu to get sound.
wanted to build Intel i7 build after this i5 12600k I use, but the crashes and rapid cpu degredation stories are making me fly to am5!going for the Pro RS mobo from Asrock!although I somehow killed the z690 Pro RS 1½ month ago, so using a crappy h610m mobo!
@@The1commenterguy I have seriously been thinking about it!I have even seen Tech Notice use that cpu with no dedicated gpu to render!so I could build one for a close friend of mine who is about to buy the Nikon Z6iii, I am giving him my previous pc which is a 5700x with 64gb ram and a mediocre 1660 ti!
@chrissyboy7047 Honestly, it's been running great. -40 Negative all cores , Scored a 18460 on Cinebench. Only issue is my RAM seems to be faulty. CL30 6000mhz TeamGroup , at 6000mhz, 5600mhz both expos, the ram light hangs after restarts or restarts 5min later. When it's on 4800mhz it restarts faster lol no issues. Then there's the other part , both expos , gaming , benchmarks no crashes no Bluescreen errors lol So I RMA my Ram
@@Greddy87 holy cow! I have the same problem. I have gigabyte b650 elite ax ice, 78000x3d, and g.skill 2x24gb 6400mhz. My pc won't restart when I enable AMD expo to run my ram kits at full speed. At first disabling AMD expo to run my ram kit at a default speed of 5200mhz seemed to fix the problem but not so fast. The problem started again. I tried a different ram kit g.skill 2x16gb 6000 mhz. My pc runs fine and restarts with no issues at 4800mhz. But when I enable AMD expo, my pc won't boot. If it boots, I keep getting error messages. Did you fix the problem with new RAM or did you find any other solutions?
@onyekaeyimegwu2514 This is what I did Power Down Enabled/ Gear down Mode Auto & Memory Context Auto , set the Expo to 6000mhz at so far it restarts no red light hanging. What's weird is my Ram meets the Mobo QVL list too , I guess the CPU is choosy
@@Greddy87 I tried my 6000mhz ram kit again and it is working fine and restarts with no issues. It is probably a motherboard ram compatibility problem. Don't think my motherboard can run 6400mhz. It is just odd that the only time this problem appears is when I restart my pc. If i shut it down and turn it back on, it starts with no issues.
Can you do a review of motherboards with more than one PCIe x16 that has minimum x8 bandwidth. I have used the Z790 proArt for clients but my own Gigabyte AeroG Z790 machine has a PCIe5 x16 that is x16 but the rest of the PCIe are only x4. I need one slot for GPU and one for a video capture card (which has to be x16x8 or x16x16.
AM5 can't have x16/x16 cause it has 28 lanes right? You could get x8/x8 pcie5.0 which is basically x16/x16 4.0 bandwidth wide but you would need a 5.0 GPU then.
@@roberthartley6629 My friend who does ML stuff and just updated their build to AM5 got an MSI X670E Carbon and I believe it's in x8/x8/x4 for two GPUs and the last for 10 gig NIC, but it's 450 bucks which is more than I want to pay for a mobo personally
I have a Samsung 2 TB 980 Pro Nvme with the bad firmware. Lasted 1 boot and entered “read-only” mode. Now useless and Samsung refused to replace it ……….. so no more Samsung crap for me ………… and I mean everything Samsung. I prefer the WD Black Nvme drives. Samsung can kiss my Royal Canadian A$$.
OK I'll post something that just shows I'm not up to date on computer hardware. I DON'T CARE WHAT THE MOTHERBOARD LOOKS LIKE! ALL THAT I CARE ABOUT IS THE FUNCTIONALITY AND TO SOME DEGREE THE PRICE. All of this as I don't understand this strange idea of building computers to edge out aquariums. If I want an aquarium I will have to feed the fish. The computer is a closed box and not something that I care about how it looks. If necessary I'll paint the glass panels black so I don't have to see it.
You are right, you must have been living under a rock. Case modding (a lot more extreme version of making it your own) was a thing when I bought my first computer 2 decades ago and still persists today. So what's wrong with something a bit different?
@@Hansen999 My problem with it is that all computer cases looks like aquariums today. It's close to impossible to buy a modern case that doesn't have glass panels ell over. Even those manufacturers that offer solid steel panels has made it an extra, so I have to buy the case with all the glass only to then buy replacement steel panels. And I do not want any glass anywhere on the case. Glass is fragile and when tempered it will basically explode if it breaks. No I do not want that anywhere near my computers. Not to mention that I can grab my tools and modify a steel panel anyway I want. With tempered glass I cant even drill a hole in it.
@@blahorgaslisk7763 the reason they have glass panels is because people like showing off their pc parts as well as having the option to modify the glass with a custom etching, sure you can't do the cool modding like Dietech did, but if you want full on steel cases without glass they aren't too hard to find although you'll have to make some compromises.
