I think you also have to consider that unless you already have very solid and amazing skills, it takes years to train. A lot of trainees train for a minimum 2-3 years but usually more. The people who tend to debut later or debut with very short training periods are the main/lead vocals who luckily can dance somewhat. This is because their singing doesn't need a lot of training, it just needs tweaking which can be given after debut since idols still do practice and classes after debut anyway. Being moderately good at dancing can also be improved if they train after. But if you need more training, it's better to train younger so you debut late teens or young adults. Being younger means your body recovers faster. A lot of older idols like a lot of normal adults around mid-to-late 20s to 30s comment "my joints are stiff. My body takes so long to recover now. I'm not as overly energetic anymore. I have past injuries that are affecting my movement. I get tired easily nowadays." I'm not saying debut little kids. I'm just explaining why they don't want most auditions from people who are 20s as the chances of someone who needs very little training is not super high. The earlier you debut the more time you have to be an idol especially with youthful energetic concepts. This is true for girl groups because a lot of male fans are fickle and jump from new young group to new young group. This is true for boy groups because military. If boys debut early and have more years to become popular, they are more likely to survive not promoting for 2-3 years. If you aren't popular and you disappear for 2-3 years, people forget you and it's difficult to gain popularity against groups who gain popularity while you are gone OR who have debuted since you disappeared.
@MUSKAN JAGLAN in a show Chan told that he had to do guitar, piano, singing blah blah blah ..and then Felix only had to do one thing only to get into stray kids...and Chan is fOive so that's why
Listen y'all, no matter how old you are even if you're in your twenties or thirties don't give up! The reason they accept young people or kids is because they want them to take their time in training properly, basically to make them professional in both singing and dancing (which takes years) however if any of you is already talented at both or at one of them then there's a high possibility that they will accept you regardless of the age, two things they mainly search for are *talent* and *visuals*
I think this is wishful thinking and the truth is a lot more colder. One of the Girls Planet former contestant stated companies didn’t accept her because she was TOO old despite only being 19. The truth is, the idol industry harsh.
@@mi-qx2wv Yea. Ahn Jeongmin said it on a live stream. You can find more information on google. Hui gets a bunch of nasty comments about his age also. If Hui doesn’t make the final lineup, it would be solely be because of people not likening his age. There’s been idols insecure about their age when they are ONLY 23.
Thank you for the information I'm looking to audition to be an Idol but I was worried I probably wouldn't get the chance because I'm 19 soon turning 20 but this info brought relief Edit: Thank you all so much for the kind words it really touched my heart 💗 Second Edit: Y'all, unfortunately, I didn't apply as my normal schedule wouldn't let me squeeze time to audition for a spot as much as I dream of being a kpop idol my schedule doesn't allow me too but thank you all for your encouragement and super kind words on pushing me to audition for a spot but I will maintain my focus on college thank you all so much again 😊 💕
Yeah many idols nowadays that debuted in their early 20s only trained for a couple of months and that makes sense now. Cuz they joined at an older age so they either had the talent already or progressed super fast. And then they were added onto a group that was already formed like a yr in the working (hasnt debuted yet) but they were looking for 1 or 2 more members specifically that fit a certain criteria that they needed for the group to be whole. Otherwise if they were younger they probs wouldn't have debuted them as fast.
keep in mind: the main reason companies take such young children in is because they can take the time to train them for as long as they need and they can debut them once theyve built up their skills as much as the company needed them to, usually trainees that have been training since they were 13 or under will be at the ideal debut age (for the company) at 16-20. but you can also be 13-18 and have plenty of time to train but if youre in the higher end of the range you should show that you already have your skillset built up to show you wont take too much of their resources and time to develop. if you're 18+ you still have a chance, you just have to have some very developed skills, at least have vocals or dance be very developed and the other skill should be semi developed since we know how weird kpop is about ages. the companies would want older trainees to be able to learn/train quicker. good luck everyone! you're not too old to audition, i do recommend waiting until you're 13 at least to audition though for mental health purposes. dont worry the industry isnt going to leave you behind, shoot ur shots tho!
Yeah, cause they were super talented, but they debuted long time ago and the trends are different now. No matter how talented a group is they wont get far in the kpop market
I’m an 11 year old asian girl except I don’t think I have the right visuals. I’ve been thinking about if I want to do this for a long time because of the overworking and extreme diets, but I think I’m going to talk about it a little more with my parents. Thanks for the information!
@@_winterbearxxx_ I was thinking and 1st be sure that this is what you really wanna do maybe if you can wait a bit I mean I know you'd be a trainee first however like just know the conditions first and everything Try to live your childhood whilst you can because like jk said he missed a lot of his childhood because of being an idol so make sure you make time for yourself Secondly to help you audition I heard they decide if they will choose you from the start so I recommend starting either from a high note or the chorus or a rap part if you want to do rap
Also not trying to put you off but I recommend you be aware of what could happen For example so many idol have depression and anxiety from stress and hate And like the survival shows they can put you in a lot of stress and seeing idol go through that can be really challenging So I hope you are aware of that Just make sure this is what you want to do not for fame or for money because that won't make you happy but if you love singing, dancing ,Rapping then I'd say go for it :)
Actually m about to turn 22 in 4 months, by the time I discovered kpop, I was already 18. I have been thinking of auditioning for a long time now since I was 19, but I was insecure of myself and my parents wouldn’t have allowed me to audition that time. Now m an adult and I have a little bit of independence, now I want to audition, but it’s too late. I’m still trying to audition. I’m right now practicing a song, and i will fill forms of as many companies as possible, that are accepting older girls like me. Like jyp, they don’t care about age, if they like a contestant and if that contestant can mix well with other girl in a group, they’ll debut her or even think about taking her in. Best of luck to you if you decide to proceed. And best of luck to me as well
I think thats a bit old to start training unfortunately cause obviously companies look for members that can stand longer and perform longer but there’s still a great possibility so goodluck
To be honest, training is very brutal. A lot of hours on your feet. On top of that, if you're in a bad company, you don't eat a lot. So you're always hungry. And you don't sleep alot either. You have to research companies that take care of their trainees and idols and dancers. So that you're healthy. I've been noticing a lot of idols not looking very healthy when you see them in real life. Looking very thin and sick. In all honesty, I would say you could become an idol yourself without going to Korea. You have to save money, research, and put in work. Learn how lighting and cameras work. How distributing music and editing work. You also will have more power over your creativity in what you do music wise, how you sound, what you do, and be a lot happier. Because in the kpop industry, it's very frustrating not having your own creativity. Also, in Korea, pale skin is still idolized over there. There are tan Asians in the music industry for sure, but if you're going to go to Korea to be part of their music industry....it's gonna be rough because people might say you're too dark or "don't fit the standard". You have to literally have the thickest skin ever because of how toxic it is. And also. No plastic surgery. Stick to how your face naturally is. I wanted to be a kpop idol when I was younger, but as I'm older ...I'm very glad I never went for that path. Because my mental, emotional, and physical health would've been destroyed. I don't need to put myself through an industry like that. Because it's a lonely life. Also, another thing. Sexual assault cases and rape are no joke. You would be distanced far from your family. You would literally have to watch over your shoulder, and make sure you're around people who got your best interests at heart and who care about you.
I meann it does seem a bit to late if you're trying to become a trainee. It takes years of training to become a professional. If you're 18 or older than you're expected to have more skills. If you're still a child then you have a lot more time and years to train as a trainee and have your skills perfected.
Shes so pretty, im so jealous 💀 i was planning on becoming a kpop idol till i did some research on how much pain kpop idols go through, me and my friends were gonna be a group but im pretty sure we wont....
Ofc they want kids, kids are easy to manipulate and easy to deal with business wise. You can make a long contract with a child and milk them for profit in the upcoming years, guaranteeing yourself a secure income.
I really wish to become a k-pop idol but I live in the U.S I can’t find any dance studios and videos don’t help I wish that I could but if any of y’all have any dance studios around Johnson county of Texas please tell me 😅
Ty for this info. I am planning to audition at Jyp when im 18 and i was feeling sad that they might not accept me bc ill be too old at that time. But after i watched this video it kinda boosted me up. Thank you.
glad to know im not the only who thinks realistically in here. these 12 year old american kids in the comments think they can become a kpop idol just like that LOL
Not me worrying my aśś off as 14 turning 15 this may thinking I’m to old for training, hopefully Jyp or P nation would accept me because im not the best at dancing
Being Korean has nothing to do with being kpop idol you can still be kpop idol if passionate about it like lisa from blackpink, shreya from black swan and the list goes on
I'm Mexican with the dream to become one but knowing I can't Makes me cry 😢 I'm only 11 but I will try to at least follow my dreams even if I know I can't I can at least become a good singer/ dancer
It's easy when you just think as company's perspective. There's common between Idol who debut over 19 or short trainee period. When you have incredible visual like Irene, Kazha and Jin. Or you got great vocal but also quite cute like baekhyun or Chen.(Giselle is exception. She can debut because she is company ceo's girlfriend's niwce.) If you are already good at dancing and singing, they wouldn't care you didn't go through long training under company.
Yes, for example JYP took Ren Shuyang from Boy Story when he was only 8 year's old. Actually they took all the members in before the age of 12 🤧 Happy 5th year Boy Story 😆
Now I am 13 years old😊and I am study in class 9th, next year my high school when I complete my high school I want to give a Odition in YG entertainment.... i am exited for it....
Well, I am 14 and Asian.... Although I don't have a pale skin color but I am not dark skinned either... And I've been practicing singing from the age of 6 .... But it was a different kind of singing ... I've been practicing K-pop and English songs for two years now .... And I am also practicing K-pop dances lately.... But you can say I am a little bad at remembering the choreography.... And my visuals are.... Well... I don't know.... Okay I guess?.... But my only problem is that I have uneven teeth.... So I think my chances are 40/60.... Even if I get selected, my parents would disagree of leaving me in their care.... So I don't think I have much of a chance........
I think this is not as bad as we all see it. At the age over 18 and more they will teke you in but you will be expected to have better or more skills then someone who is like 13 or 14 which I can some extent compare it to school classes
the problem is that there are alot of non korean people who may want to become an idol but dont know the language and everything🚶🏼♀️theyve got alot to learn to become an idol and may be scared of not being accepted because theyre not from korea and dont have the same features like the eyes or something. I think this shouldnt be a problem and im pretty sure its not that deep, as there are alot of japanese, thai, chinese, alot of english and alot more idols that had to learn the language too. I hope that everyone who wants to become an idol gets to their goal🫶🏼
my plan is to audition for jyp like a month before I turn 18 and ir I get it I want to go to Korea when I turn and keep training but if I have to have more skills than Idk
I'm curious how companies woukd think about letting foreigners join. Ofc we see for example Japanese snd Chinese in kpop groups but if say a French person wants o join who has the right set of skills and speaks Korean, would they allow it? Because I can imagine they'd also be looking for certain body features that fit Korea's beauty standards and most people who aren't from Asia don't really fit into that
They've let a Russian girl and Indian join, I think if you have the talents and fit some of those standards they might let you in, as k pop becomes more worldwide we will see more groups with more diverse people
I think the proper age to be a trainee should be like 16 and the oldest to be 25 cause the young ones can't stay uneducated so they need to go school, debuting before 18 is literally absurd
I mean hybe's literally taking 10 year Olds in their next round of audition so atp its all on the parents to protect their young children from money hungry corporate creeps
I'm 23 and I can dance and sing and I want to become a k-pop artist.....but no one will do it for me because all want 18 but at least they should take 26 they can fill their dream 😢
Hi! Im late! I wondering if they would take 13 year olds? and also if they take people that aren’t Korean, Japanese, Chinese! Please let me know- this is a dream for me!
Thank you💜💜💜💜💜💜😇 my lil cousin sis is 8....she audition in an ent (i can't mention the name) she passed her 1st and 2nd aud..so this was helpful to me....thank you dear thank you💜💜💜😘😘😘😘
As a trainee myself I came here to tell you: 1) Be healthy as possible they won't accept u if u have health problems. 2)Staying fit.(its not a requirement due to extreme diets and lots of exercise) 3)Don't have a mean personality(you will get a lot of hate due to this) I'll be happy to answer any of your questions :)
Do they accept ppl with crooked teeth? Like one of my friends have upper bunny teeth and lower crooked teeth, I don't think she wants to be a kpop idol. But in case?
@@priyankanotess5330for me particulary i have straight teeth and bunny teeth and crooked teeth you need to wear braces and make it straight it isn't really a problem but you see bts jimin has bunny teeth and its a bit painful while singing so you need to wear brace.
I really want to audition but I’m afraid to tell my guardians, bc I’m still at a pretty young age, and I still have school also my parents doesn’t want me to fail my tests. Is there anything I could do?! I’m legit desprate ;-;
Tell them that if you get accepted, u can afford studding there+ studying there is better, u can aslo tell them that you want to do this as a part time job(?) Ik thats sounds stupid, but atleast it may work... Good Luck!!! (We literally suffer from the same situation)
