I've had standalone cd players that don't sound as good.I wonder what amazing dac is in PS3,I found qed reference optical cable takes it up to the level of serious budget cd players...around £400.

Guys, could you please change the title of your video? Although the information and the content in it are really useful and the video is well made with good comments and entertainment the title was indeed a little confusing to me. The video really is about circumventing HDMI to be able to play audio through a Surround system but the method explained still uses an optical cable. That is still considered digital since TOS-link cable still use the digital principles of electronics to transmit audio. Although it could be perfectly feasible for a PS3 to output fully analog Surround sound like PCs do I don't believe Sony designed their SCART output for that purpose but limited it instead to an stereo output. Falling into the tradition of console history and evolution.
just bought pioneer tv and my px 21s has no sound only chat ive made sure im in right holes (red white) and messed about with setting and nothing should I buy an optical cable, from ps3 to tv, will that work ?
Can u say why the 44.1 option in music settings gives a louder sound when u play cds??? I realized that and i left it in that option. Though by factory default settings is 48 khz. I use it with rca cables. Just analog stereo sound through a Yamaha analog amp. TANNOY speakers. The voices sounds amazingly good. But can u tell me why im listening louder over 44.1/88.2 etc. ?????

I just highlighted the first 3 options, the linex autio is unchangeable on my tv. Even then there's a noticeable difference in sound quality. The HDMI seems to go faster now that i've done it. Any source on that?

Im using panasonic 5.1 supports all high end dolby true hd and dts hd mst audio loving the audio, im using hdmi 1.4 i rekon hdmi gives a better audio, with my new led 3d samsung 240hz ;)
