Tough work, but somebody's got to do it. Thank you for this comprehensive review. What is it with liver for afternoon tea? It may look chic, but tastes like a gastronomic faux-pas.

Peninsula tea my choice. Have it when in HK and always high standards. Thanks for vlog.

There may be the odd tourist or two, but It's mostly well-heeled Hongkongers who go to such places for English afternoon tea. The hoi polloi prefer dim sum, or the afternoon tea sets served at Fairwood's, Maxim's and Cafe de Coral, e.g., a bowl of noodles or a chicken leg, with peanut-butter French toast and Hong Kong milk tea on the side---entirely delicious, healthier , and absolutely no foie gras. I think it would have been more gracious to the places you surveyed had you not labelled their afternoon teas "weird" nor spoken with a tone of disgust about one of the items offered simply because you don't happen to like it. Foie gras is as traditional to English afternoon tea as cream scones.

I appreciated your comment before you edited the last part. I’m entitled to my opinion as a customer. Not saying that these places are bad, just certain items on the menu were not up to my taste or expectations 👌🏻

@@HelenSpacewalker Appreciate your response and of course you 're entitled to your opinion. It was how you expressed it that I commented on. Anyway--I've been looking at some of your other videos and find them entertaining and informative. All the best.

I am Venezuelan and expressing disgust to any food was strongly forbidden by my parents as "we must be grateful for having food to eat while other people are not that fortunate", I was scolded hard the few times I did it as a child. Now I still cringe when I see people doing it. I know it is a cultural thing but I still feel shocked and a little annoyed when other people express disgust against food

@@helencheung2537 foie gras is banned from being made in the UK, we don't eat it here- especially not for afternoon tea. Most British people are disgusted by foie gras and consider it cruel. Don't speak about things you know nothing about. Rude.

I am not sure if you know about Bettys that is located in the UK, if they were to open in Hong Kong would you go?

No, I haven't heard about this one in particular, but of course, I would love to try the OG afternoon tea somewhere in London 🤗

Your video content is on par. However, it would be further improved if you just did a voice over on top of b roll footage of the content. Your thumbnail and your video title should also be more captivating.
